Remember that even to this day, the minimum supported version is 10.3.9 by the majority of Mac developers. 10.4 has been the latest for about 2 years now, which means that 10.3 has been supported for 4 years. That's still quite a long time. For those running Tiger, there will be support for quite a long time, especially with 10.5 still being wet behind the ears even after its release.

And as for using .0 releases, I wouldn't recommend it on any OS. WIndows, Mac OS, even a new Linux kernel is something that I wouldn't try on a working system. Why else would people stay behind with XP (which is right now as stable as Windows has ever been) than use Vista which was just released. Why else would so many be eagerly expecting SP1 for Vista?
