Yeah, from my research, I've figured out that it is essentially an RS/6000 motherboard with slight firmware changes.
It has a goofy tray-load CD-ROM drive where the whole mechanism comes out with the tray (similar in style to most non-slot-load notebook optical drives; only this one is standard desktop size.) Of course, it won't read ANY CD-R discs, even ones burned at 1x. And the floppy drive is failing, too. At least they're standard parts. I'll swap the floppy no problem, and I think I have a newer SCSI CD-ROM drive around somewhere that can read CD-Rs.
