the so called 'nap-mode' is some kind of power save function of the g4 processor. it´s used in the apple g4 notebooks but the processors in the desktop machines support it, too. you can turn it on/off using the 'hardware' control panel that comes with the apple CHUD tools. this isn´t supported by apple but works ok for me.
