About
All versions of Mac OS 8.5 and greater, including Mac OS X, have the ability to automatically synchronize their system clock to the authoritative NIST network time servers using the Internet NTP protocol.
We have updated the instructions for utilizing this feature. You can find them at: http://www.boulder.nist.gov/timefreq/service/pdf/macintosh.pdf
This document also provides pointers to software other than Mac OS itself that might be useful for Mac OS versions 8.1 and earlier, and for computers that are not Internet connected (using the modem-based ACTS service).
