I received email from a Chunsheng Ban , who passed on some additional information about the state of TeX/LaTeX on the Mac. For anyone concerned, I figured it would be worth the time to update this file by including the rather useful paragraph below. The rest of the file, beyond this paragraph, contains the same group of replies I got when I asked the net people about TeX implementations on the Mac.
