SC Server Switch is a small Macintosh utility by Seth Lowe that lets StarCraft players choose which Battle.net server their copy of the game connects to. PC StarCraft users had long enjoyed this ability, but until this freeware release it was unavailable to Mac players, who were locked into whichever gateway the client defaulted to.
What it does
The program writes the appropriate server settings into StarCraft so that subsequent Battle.net sessions log in to the gateway you pick, allowing players to follow friends across regions or pick a server with better latency.
Ease of use
The author describes it as a simple and quick program, designed so that switching servers is a one-screen task with no configuration files to edit by hand.
License
SC Server Switch is freeware. It targets StarCraft for Mac OS and is intended purely as a companion utility to Blizzard's game.
