Afterdarkupd is the After Dark 2.0v updater for the classic Berkeley Systems screen-saver suite on the Macintosh. Distributed as a Compact Pro archive (afterdarkupd20v.cpt), it patches an existing After Dark 2.0 install up to the 2.0v maintenance revision rather than acting as a standalone screen saver.
What it updates
The package targets After Dark 2.0, Berkeley Systems' modular screen-saver framework famous for the Flying Toasters, Lawn Mower Man, and dozens of other animated modules. Applying the updater brings the host install to revision 2.0v without disturbing user-installed third-party modules.
How it ships
The file is a Compact Pro (.cpt) archive rather than a BinHex envelope, mirrored alongside the wider After Dark module collection in the archive's afterdark/ directory. Companion files in the same directory include the related ad11cupdater.sit and a large catalogue of third-party module packages.
Requirements and notes
An existing licensed install of After Dark 2.0 is required; the updater carries no standalone screen-saver functionality and will not run without the base product. Compact Pro or a compatible expander (StuffIt Expander with Compact Pro support) is needed to unpack the .cpt file on a classic Mac OS system.
