MacSurf is a modern web browser for classic Mac OS 9 — a derivative of NetSurf with a native Carbon UI, Open Transport networking, and a CSS3-capable layout engine running on PowerPC hardware as old as the WallStreet G3. It is the only browser for classic Mac OS to support TLS 1.3, CSS Grid, and JavaScript natively, with no proxy required, on Mac OS 8.6–9.2.2.
Version 2.0.5, codenamed HACKADAY, is a polish release over 2.0: a browser-wide text-size fix (author font-size was drawing about 25% too small), a large modern-CSS pass, a much more capable on-device JavaScript engine (ES2023 via macQJS), and tracker/ad-network blocking. Full source on GitHub. An MPLS LLC project.
