Strip Bandit Copyright 1995 By Eric Hustvedt, All rights reserved. What is it and how do I use it? Strip Bandit is a Control Strip Module which places a slot machine game in the Control Strip. The rules are straightforward, to play simply click on Strip Bandit's tile, you will be charged 1 point per play, and your winnings depend upon the outcome of the play (standard slot machine procedure). To install Strip Bandit place it in the Control Strip Modules folder inside the System Folder and restart your Mac. To change various preferences that Strip Bandit uses, hold down the command key while clicking on Strip Bandit's tile and a menu will popup. Menu Items: Minimize/Maximize Display: Shrinks/Expands Strip Bandit's tile so that it takes up less screen space when it is not needed. Reset game: Resets the point value to 100 points. Save game: Saves the current point value (in case of a crash...) Sound On/Off: Turns sound on or off. Count Off Score: If selected the score display counts off each digit as it's added to the score. Show point values...: Displays a diagram of all the winning combonations and what they are worth. Who created it and how do I contact them? Strip Bandit was created over four days (when I should have been doing something more meaningful....) by Eric Hustvedt. My addresses are: Snail Mail: Eric Hustvedt 247 Pope Rd. Concord, MA 01742-5203 E-mail: hustvedt@mail.ultranet.com. How much does it cost? In short, that is sort of up in the air. My standard shareware fee is $1, but since this piece of software has no real use, except to suck up screen space, free time and not-so-free time, that is sort of like how a politician operates; charge so much for so little. Send whatever you feel you want to give me (that includes job offers, computers, anything that won't directly harm me or you). Warranty? There is none. This software is provided as is. I, as the author, am not liable for any damage this may cause to you or your computer, either directly or indirectly. Distribution? Please feel free to distribute Strip Bandit, provided you include this file with the distribution. For distribution on CD-ROMs, books, and such I would appreciate a complementary copy of the final product. Finally, for-profit distributors of shareware (e.g. Educorp) and the Microsoft Network are explicitly prohibited from distributing Strip Bandit. Version History: Version 1.0 (August 28, 1995) - Initial release. Version 1.0.1 (September 2, 1995) New Features: - Added the ability to choose whether or not the score display counts off each digit when the score changes. It defaults to counting off the score, to change the preference select the "Count off score" item from the popup menu. Bug Fixes: - Fixed the Point Values dialog to (hopefully) look the way I intended it to. - Fixed a bug where the jackpot sound would play even with the sound off. -1- - Properly disposed of resources that were ta…

Its improved functionality and versatile range of features were designed to meet the rigorous requirements of graphics professionals and desktop publishers. The program now supports multiple page printing, a more inclusive selection of Preferences, Transparency (transparent page), and numerous features which take advantage of the improvements made to Apple's operating system for the Macintosh, System 7.0, including TrueTypeTm font handling, Create Publisher, and Balloon Help. Important! AFTER you have read pages 1-13 of the manual, and installed Studio/32 1.2 on your hard drive, but BEFORE you begin working with the program, read quickly through this addendum. It will help you properly register your copy of Studio/32 1.2 and provide detailed descriptions of all the new or enhanced features of 1.2. StuffIt User’s Guide Version 1.5 StuffIt The Macintosh® Archive Utility for the Apple® Macintosh Written by Raymond Lau. StuffIt and UnStuffIt are © 1987,1988 by Raymond Lau. All Rights Reserved. Written in LightspeedC™, thus portions ©1986, THINK Technologies, Incorporated. This User’s Guide is written by Raymond Lau and is © 1988 by Raymond Lau. Distribution and usage are restricted. See Distribution/Usage in Chapter 1. This document was set in Times® and Apple Courier with MacWrite®. StuffIt 1.5 1 1 . Preface/Introduction What is S t u f f I t? StuffIt is a useful file archiving utility that allows you to do the following: 1. Gather many files together into a single “archive”. 2. Optionally compress those files if desired. 3. Optionally encrypt those files if desired. 4. Optionally generate a report of the entries in an archive. 5. Segment large files for transmission by modem or for archiving from a hard disk onto floppies. As a convenience, StuffIt can also: 6. Encode and Decode BinHex4 .hqx files. 7. UnPack PackIt II/III “.pit” files and optionally convert them to the StuffIt format. Of course, StuffIt also allows you to “extract” files that have previously been archived (or “stuffed”) by you or another user. Why use S t u f f I t? Gathering many files into an archive allows you to transmit many files as one over a modem or network. Compression of the files saves disk space and/or on-line time when transmitting or receiving files by disk or modem, respectively. Compression of rarely used files will allow you to better utilize available disk space. Encrypting files will protect your sensitive data from prying eyes. About the author: StuffIt and its accompanying documentation were written by Raymond Lau with the help of a few other people. Work on StuffIt started around July-August, 1987 and has continued ever since. The author is devoted to continuously improving and updating StuffIt and its utilities, and he welcomes your suggestions, criticisms and other input.
