NetherWorld™: The Read Me File Copyright © 1995 Stick Man Games Version 1.2.1 (April 6, 1998) Version 1.2 (September 18, 1997) Version 1.0 (January 1995) DESCRIPTION For centuries, the beast has fed on the souls of mortals who have been tempted by his evil ways. In 2005, all nations of the Earth signed an agreement now known as the “Peace on Earth” treaty. Approval of this document, sparked a virtual end to war and crime on the planet. The beast and his demonic hordes, hungry for souls, are now retaliating, reclaiming what they have lost. We want you to get our people back! SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS • 68020 Processor Minimum. NetherWorld will function on any machine with a '020 processor or greater. To experience NetherWorld the way it is intended, we recommend a 33Mhz 68030 or better. All models of PowerMacs should work fine. • System 7.x is required. • At least a 256 Color monitor. NetherWorld will work in thousands or millions, but there may been a significant performance loss. If you start NetherWorld in a video mode other than 256 colors, it will ask if you would like to switch, and make the change for you. It will restore you to the previous setting on exit. • 2MB RAM free. This information can be found in the Finder, using About this Macintosh..., under the Apple menu. If you do not have enough memory, try closing other applications, or going out and buying more RAM. • Sound Manager 3.0 is highly recommended. HINTS AND TIPS Every time I try to pick up a soul, he turns to hamburger. What am I doing wrong? Try slowing down a bit. Whenever I see a demon on the screen, he kills me! Are you guys such jerks that you made the game impossible to win? Sorry, but the game is quite winnable, I guess that you just really stink at it. You have two distinct advantages against the demons, your speed, and your mini-guns. If a demon gets too close for comfort, just take off. Don't stand around waiting for the demon to jump in front of your guns. Also, if you haven't noticed, guns are ranged weapons, and your range extends well off the screen. Just line them up using your radar, and blast away! They should be dust by the time they are on the screen. Can I kill the beast? That's for us to know, and you to find out. How do I clear the high score list? You simply drag the file "Hate List", located in the NetherWorld folder to the trash. Will NetherWorld work with other applications running? Yes, but it is recommended that you close other applications before running NetherWorld. If you have other applications running in the background, game play may become "choppy". Will you make a version of NetherWorld to run on my SE? No, buy a real computer. (Just kidding!) Unfortunately, we will not be making a black and white version of NetherWorld. DISTRIBUTION INFO If you are interested in distributing NetherWorld, please visit our web site at <http://www.smgames.com/press/distribute.html>. DISCLAIMER In no event will Stick Man Game…

NetPresenz requires System 7, MacTCP 1.1, and File Sharing enabled. It honours the Users & Groups privileges and passwords, and supports multiple logins, anonymous FTP (user name “anonymous” or “ftp”), as well as MacBinary and BinHex transfers, and the “MACB” FTP command. You can run NetPresenz as a foreground application (displaying the log), or as a background only application (use NetPresenz Setup to toggle between the two). Features Support WWW, Gopher and FTP connections. Full CGI support. Multiple simultaneous users. Honours System 7 Users & Groups (in fact depends on them!). Server Side Includes (SSI), counters and include files, file modification date and so forth. CGI authentication. Missing files support. Supports BinHex and MacBinary transfers. Supports the MACB command. Supports Alias resolution for directories and files. Allows login to other AppleShare servers on the local network. Allows different formats of a file to be fetched. Pattern matching in change directory command. Individual initial directory and commands for any user. FTP site descriptions sent after login. Directory descriptions sent after CD command. Supports the CatSearch feature to allow very fast searches. Remote site access restrictions. ISO international character translation. Allows setting of the owner, group and access permissions. Allows users to change passwords on all logged in servers. Supports Scrambled & Two-way passwords. Supports process control (launching, listing or quitting applications). Runs in the foreground or the background. Using NetPresenz Setup NOTE: If you have problems logging in, check the Summary window and see if it gives you any clues. NOTE: Some preferences are set with the Internet Config application (these are shared between many different Internet applications, so you only have to set them once and then all supporting applications will use them). New Versions and Bug Reports Introduction Image is a public domain program for the Macintosh II for doing digital image processing and analysis. It can acquire, enhance, measure, edit, animate, print and pseudocolor images. It reads and writes TIFF and PICT files, providing compatibility with many other Macintosh applications, including programs for scanning, processing, editing, publishing, and analyzing images. It supports many standard image processing functions, including histogram equalization, contrast enhancement, density profiling, smoothing, sharpening, edge detection, and noise reduction. Spatial convolutions, with user defined kernels up to 63x63, are supported. Image can be used to measure lengths and x-y coordinates, and compute the average density and area of user defined regions of interest. Length and area measurements results can be calibrated to provide real world values. Density calibration can be done against radiation or optical density standards using any user specified units. The user can select from any of eight different curve fitting methods for generating calibration curves. It provides MacPaint-like editing of color and grayscale images, including the ability to draw lines, rectangles, ovals and text. It can flip, rotate, invert and scale selections. It supports multiple windows and 8 levels of magnification. All editing, filtering, and measurement functions operate at any level of magnification and are undoable. It uses digital halftoning to print images on PostScript printers and Floyd-Steinberg dithering for printing on non-PostScript printers. It supports either the Data Translation QuickCapture card or Scion Image Capture 2 card for digitizing images using a TV camera. Acquired images can be shading corrected and frame averaged. Image is written in Lightspeed Pascal from Symantec Corporation, and the source code is available. The program can be easily ported to other Pascal compilers for the Macintosh, such as MPW Pascal or TML Pascal. System Requirements For full operation, Image requires a Mac II(x, cx, or ci) with at least 2 megabytes of memory, but 4 megabytes, or more, is recommended for doing animation, for simultaneously displaying more than a handful of pictures, or for running under MultiFinder. Image also requires an 8-bit video card capable of displaying 256 c…
