Coalesce v1.0.0b Introduction: This is the first beta of a 3D modeler for Macintosh. Your computer needs to have Mac OS X and OpenGL hardware acceleration. Being the first release it is missing many features, such as the ability to export in different model formats. The main idea is for testers to see if the program would be useful and what features they would like to see in future releases of the program (e.g. different model formats). Using the Program: Navigating: An important thing to know about the modeler is how to change perspectives. If you hold down spacebar while dragging the mouse in the window your workspace will rotate. If you hold down command while dragging the workspace will move in the direction you dragged. If you hold down option while dragging up the camera will zoom in and if you hold down option while dragging down the camera will zoom out. Exiting: Command-Q works just as it always does to quit the program. There is no "Are you sure you want to quit" dialog. If you think there should be let me know. Pressing Escape will jump you back to the finder and will hide Coalesce. Clicking on the icon in the dock will take you back. Also clicking on the blue bubble in the upper left corner will do the same thing as pressing Escape. The Window Menu: The Vertex Window: This window has three coordinates that describe the location of the vertex that is currently selected. If more than one vertex is selected only one of them will be affected by this window. If you click on the values of the vertexes X, Y, or Z coordinate you can type in a new value. This is particularly useful if you need a vertex in a specific position. I've been wondering whether an option that locks the vertices to a grid would be useful. If you think so let me know. The Design Window: This window has four different tools. The first tool creates new vertices. You can create vertices by simply clicking on the workspace where you want the new vertex to be. The second tool selects vertices. If you click on a vertex it will be selected and you can drag it around the screen. If you click but not on a vertex a drag box will appear and anything inside the drag box when you release the mouse will be selected. Holding down shift will allow you to select more vertices without unselecting the previous ones. The third tool creates triangles. If you click between three vertices a triangle will form there. A note of caution is that the triangle that will form will be the one as near as possible to the camera. That means if you have many vertices scattered around the screen the triangle that will form will most likely not be one that you wanted. A way around this is to leave as few open vertices as possible (i.e. make the triangles as you create the vertices, not long after). The triangle tool is mainly for creating the first triangles on the model or for filling in holes later on. The bulk of the model should be created with the extrude tool (below). If you c…

referenceforPDF.html Page 1 This is a Reference Manual for Cocoa. It documents common operations, tools, windows and menus in Cocoa DR2. There is a brief description of each item for your reference. Here's a quick index: Common Operations Working with Appearances | Working with Sounds | Selection Windows, Graphics & Tools Controls | Rule Actions | Rule Editor | Checklist | Piece Editor Tracing Lights | Rule Sets | Click Responses | Key Responses | Variables Appearance Editor | Sound Editor | World Variables | Board Settings | About This World Cocoa Menu Reference Apple | File | Play | Board | Piece | Appearance | Sound | Paint | Window Mon, Jun 23, 1997 12:07 PM referenceforPDF.html Page 2 Common Operations Selection Pieces on the board can be selected using the standard Macintosh selection conventions (e.g., clicking on a piece selects it, shift-clicking toggles the piece in or out of the set of currently selected pieces, mousing down on an empty area of the board and dragging enables the user to marquee select.) Pressing the delete key deletes the current selection. Option-dragging pieces makes a copy of the dragged items. Working with Appearances Changing a Piece's Appearance There are four ways to change a piece's current appearance. All have the same effect on the piece. 1) With the desired Piece selected, select an appearance from the Appearance Menu, 2) Drag an appearance from the Appearances window onto the piece, 3) Command Mouse Down on the piece to bring up a picture popup menu and select one, or 4) Drag an appearance from the Appearances window into the Appearance variable box. If a rule is being recorded when any of these are done, the appearance change action is recorded in the rule. If you drag one piece's appearance from its Appearances window onto a DIFFERENT type of piece, that other type of piece will NOT change to that appearance. (Note: if the 2nd piece does have an appearance with that same name, it will change to that appearance.) An appearance belongs to the specific type of piece for which it was drawn. You can copy an appearance from one piece's Appearances window to another piece by dragging an appearance from one piece's Appearances window to the other piece's Appearances window. Might & Magic III ########•#########•#########•########•#######•# # # # # # # The “Isles of Terra” is the setting for the game of Might and Magic III. There are 15 islands, 5 towns, 5 castles, 8 dungeons, 5 caverns and 4 pyramids for you to explore. When you also consider the fact that each town has a cavern underneath it and each castle has a dungeon underneath it what you actually have is 15 islands, 5 towns, 5 castles, 13 dungeons, 10 caverns and 4 pyramids. All of this in addition to the islands themselves and the ocean that entirely surrounds the islands. Needless to say this is an enormous game. What are we doing here? Throughout the game there is one major quest and numerous smaller quests. Thoughtfully, the folks at New World Computing have provided a special window in the game for you to consult regarding your quests. Here is where you can see exactly what it is that you are supposed to be doing during your journey. It is entirely possible to accomplish the major goal of the game without fulfilling all the requirements of the minor quests. Since the major quest is not readily apparent it is best to begin by attempting to complete some of the smaller ones. As you proceed things will start to fall into place regarding the major goal of the game. Your ability to maneuver throughout the game depends greatly on the makeup of your party of characters. You will want to have a good balance of strength, stealth, and magic. When you create your party you should have at least two strong characters in the lead, followed by a character with good archery skills and a robber-type of some sort. Next you should definitely have at least two spell-casters. Since there are different spells available to the clerics and sorcerers it is recommended that you have one of each in your party. As you obtain items throughout the game you can control who will fight first in your party. Each character has a rating for “speed” and the fastest individual will strike first during battle. If your strongest player is not necessarily your fastest you may want to equip him/her with some items which increase their speed rating. There are many such items in the game and we will discuss these later on. One of the most frequently asked questions is how to trade items between players. To accomplish this you begin by opening the item inventory window of the character who currently has the intended item in his possession. Locate the item in the inventory list and highlight the item by clicking on it. Next you click on the icon of the character to whom you want the item traded. That‘s all there is to it! 2.8 Hints Page 106 Tue, Apr 27, 2021 Window to the World - Beside the fact that it is very nicely designed, the window through which you view your world provides a much greater function. If one of your party members possesses the ability to “spot secret doors” the small gargoyle in the lower right-hand corner will wave its hand …

MYST ########•#########•#########•########•#######•####### These hints are divided into three sections. The first section providesgeneral hints to help you better understand Myst and to improve play. The second section contains additional help, and guides you through Mystand the different Ages. As a last resort, the third section containsthe actual answers to the various Myst puzzles. General Hints: Most devices on the island have been put there for a purpose. If you see a switch, flip it. If you see a button, press it. Take note of what happens. Did something change on the screen? Did you hearanything? Usually this triggers an event somewhere else on the island. Several devices require a combination of symbols, letters, or numbers to be entered in. If you have not discovered the combination, donot waste your time guessing! Find the combinations first! Maps to each Age can be found in the Library. You may want to copy themdown in your Myst journal before transporting. You can hold only one red or blue page at a time. Clicking on a new page will cause the page you are holding to return to its original location. Similarly, only one red or blue page can be returned to Myst at a time. You may have to revisit Ages to get additional pages. It is impossible to get permanently trapped, there is always a way out. Remember to save your game. You may want to use multiple saves, especially towards the end, as there is no telling what might happen! Discover Myst: Find the note from Atrus, and go to the chamber by the dock. Use the Dimensional Imager to discover what Marker Switches look like. Travel around the island and count the number of marker switches. Enter that number into the dimensional imager to receive the message from Atrus. (You may listen to 2.8 Hints Page 128 Tue, Apr 27, 2021 the message as often as you like.) Explore the Library: Red and Blue Books - Place the pages in the books to receive messages. (Click again on the book to replay messages.) Paintings - The left painting opens a secret passageway to the observatory tower, the right painting opens the door to the outside. A Bookcase - Most of the books have been destroyed, save for a few which are still legible. Each book describes a different age which the author has created. Write down any information that you feel will be valuable later on. Island Map - This controls the observatory tower rotation. The marker switches allow the island structures to become visible on the map. The access keys to each age can be found in the Observatory Tower. Click on the observatory icon until the rotation line turns red. The red line will lock onto structures that contain transport books to different Ages. Observatory Tower: Click on the bookcase picture to open a secret passageway to the tower.Inside you will find two ladders marked by book and key icons. Climb the book ladder to view the structure that contains the tran…
