Two potential installation problems to be aware of: Problem #1 There are 6 CMOS Hal integrated circuits on the Mac logic board which are all electro- static sensitive . One of these Hals is connected directly to the 10-pin connector on the Mac logic board. This part is susceptible to static discha rge damage. This damage will result in a single bright line across the screen of the Mac, necessitating replaceme nt of the Mac logic board. All handling of the Mac logic board or HyperDrive board pair should occur at a static-safe work station . Problem #2 The Mac power supply/sweep board can be damaged if the anode on the CRT is discharged incorrectly during servicing or HyperDrive installation. •• aker. Dear FileMaker, Inc. Customer: Thank you for your purchase of this FileMaker, Inc. product. The transformation of Claris Corporation into FileMaker, Inc. is proceeding quickly. The FileMaker Pro line of database software is strong and growing, and we are changing our company to focus exclusively on creating more and greater products for our customers and developers. Your support has led to significant growth for FileMaker Pro: it is the most popular stand-alone database software for the Macintosh and is the second most popular database software for Windows (retail sales not including suites), with about 3 million units distributed and 2,500 developers, consultants and trainers. Sales of the Windows versions more than tripled during the past two years. You may notice the names and logos of both FileMaker, Inc. and Claris Corporation on product boxes, in manuals and within our software until this transformation is complete. We're gradually phasing in the new FileMaker, Inc. name and logo to assure a steady delivery of software to our customers during the transition. Thank you for your support as we write the next chapters in the FileMaker, Inc. story. Sincerely, ~ Dominique Goupil President FileMaker, Inc. U98510-001A

Adobe Dear Adobe FrameMaker+SGML Customer: Thank you for purchasing Adobe" FrameMaker+SGMe software. We're confident that you will find FrameMaker+SGML to be the ideal solution for your authoring and publishing requirements for both structured and unstructured documents. The manuals contained in this package will help you install and become familiar with FrameMaker+SGML. An additional guide, Using FrameMaker+SGML, details how to take advantage of the software's various capabilities. The software also includes on-line manuals for application developers and template designers. For developers, we have also enclosed a sample FrameMaker+SGML application, based on the DocBook DTD. The files contained in this sample application will load automatically when you install FrameMaker+SGML. FrameMaker+SGML incorporates these new features, previously unavailable in FrameBuilder": • Attribute support • Entity support • Structured tables • Enhanced SGML read/write functionality • Hierarchical styles • Element-based cross references, index markers, table of contents, and list generation Before you begin installing and exploring FrameMaker+SGML, please take a moment to fill out and return the enclosed product registration card. This will enable us to notify you of application upgrades and other relevant information. Sincerely, Lani Hajagos Senior Product Marketing Manager 9000 0020 PROBLEM ALERT After releasing FrameMaker+SGML to manufacturing, we discovered some additional problems we'd like you to be aware of. These are described below, along with some workarounds. Please be assured that we will be correcting these problems as soon as possible. • Structure Book/Structure Documents Bug #103768 When attempting to structure a book file via the Structure Book command or to structure docu- ments in batch via the Structure Documents command, FrarneMaker+SGML will fail to open any documents which would produce an alert if opened interactively via the Open command. For example, if a document normally causes the "Document uses unavailable fonts" alert on open, then the structure commands will fail to open that file. The workaround is to either manually open the documents to fix any problems which might cause such alerts and resave them before running these commands, or to open the documents and keep them open before running the structure commands. • Structure Book/Structure Documents Bug #103427 Windows 3.1 platform only The Structure Book and Structure Documents command may fail to open documents from a remote disk mounted over the network. If this happens, the files should either be copied to a local disk, or first opened manually and then run either command with the files already open. • Cross References and hidden text Bug #103777 Whe…

Dear Infini-D Customer: Thank you for your purchase of Infini-D 4.0. This new release is the best version of Infini-D ever, with dozens of new features, a new renderer, a new context-sensitive interface, and an expandable architecture. Infini-D 4.0 represents more than 18 months of effort on the part of Specular R&D, and we are all very proud and excited to bring this new release to our loyal Infini-D customers. Awesome New Features Among the dozens of new features in version 4.0 the one that has generated the most buzz is the remarkable interactive particle system. Not only can you "scrub" the Sequencer time marker to preview particles in real-time (forward and backward), but with Infini-D's incredible "free" particles, you can create physically-realistic particle flows, as well as real-time collisions with 3D objects! We've also added target cameras and lights for rapid scene manipulation, visible light beams for unbelievable lighting effects, integrated support for After Effects™ filters, vertex-level editing, animated deformations, accelerated wireframe rendering (up to 900% faster) and a lot more! "Context Sensitive" Interface Infini-D 4.0 has a brand-new interface that has been designed to maximize efficiency and productivity while working in the 3D environment. The new centralized Command Floater automatically updates to provide greater control-as an object is selected, the Command Floater changes to present the controls rele- vant to that object. Spend less time going into dialog boxes and menus, and more time creating 3D scenes. New Digital Video Integration In keeping with.Infini-D's.targeted foGU-S on digital video and professlenal ani-mat-i:on, we've incorporated all the key features necessary for truly broadcast-quality output, as well as many capabilities that speed the process of creating 3D for digital video. These features include field rendering, customizable NTSC and PAL color correction, non-square pixels, an audio track in the Sequencer, instant previews over video, and an entirely re-written scanline renderer generating incredible image quality. Create anything from flying logos to full-screen animations faster and more accurately than ever, and render them directly to a file that is ready to import into any non-linear system-with flawless results. Specular Joins Forces With MetaTools As many of you already know, MetaTools, Inc. acquired Specular in April, 1997. The reason for the acquisition was MetaTools' interest in acquiring a strong engineering team to develop and support 3D animation and digital video-focused applications. As a result of this transaction Specular's R&D team is relocating to Princeton, NJ to work with MetaTools' Real Time Geometry lab (RTG) , specializing in 3D technology research. We are excited to be working with our RTG colleagues to bring impr…

.,::. __ .. ,.. ....•. Please reboot while holding the shift key down before proceeding!!! This will insure that all INITs and CDEVs are off while installation takes place. ------------------------------ SPECIAL NOTE: If you are planning to run DECK II and METRO on a Mac with 8 megabytes of RAM or less, you will need to DECREASE DECK II's preferred RAM partition from 5000 to 3500 after installation. Do this by selecting the DECK II in the Finder and choosing Get Info on the File menu. SPECIAL NOTE: DECK II now has a new installation procedure. All installation is automatic, so NO Extras diskette is required, and NO DECK Resources file is needed. SPECIAL NOTE: If you are running DECK II on a Power Macintosh, you will want to allocate at least 8 megabytes of RAM to DECK II. Do this by selecting the DECK II in the. Finder and choosing Get Info on the File menu. SPECIAL NOTE for Power Macintosh users: This version runs on Power Macintoshes using System 7.1.2 as well as System 7.5. For best results however, OSC recommends running DECK II under System 7.5. Power Macintosh, 840A V, or 660A V users should also be certain that their hard drives are formatted with drivers that fully support SCSI Manager 4.3. OSC recommends using the driver from Charis in their Anubis formatting utility or the driver from Transoft in SCSIDirector. Symptoms of not having SCSI Manager 4.3 compatible drivers include slow user interface response, decreased track count, and "Disk too slow" messages. Power Macintosh users should know that the "Analog Input Level" sub-menu is controlling an input pre-amp (you are increasing the level of the signal) whereas on other machines where this item is available it is controlling an input attenuator (you are decreasing the level of the signal). This is why Power Macintosh users have had to set this item to a low number for best results and other users have had to set this item to a high number for best results. This is due to hardware differences between the various platforms. ------------------------------ PLEASE READ these Release Notes for DECK II™ version 2.2. Hello and welcome to the newest version of DECK, DECK II 2.2! DECK II is not just a simple update to OSC's original DECK program - it's a whole new application that takes original DECK functions into the world of the digital audio workstation. And this version fully supports the 6 tracks on a Macintosh 660av, 8 tracks on an 840av and 8 - 12 tracks on a Power Macintosh with all DECK features - NO AUDIO CARDS REQUIRED. DECK II offers: • Non-destructive recording • Multitrac…

Instruction Manual © 2002 CodeBlender Software, All Rights Reserved 1 DeepTrouble In year 2103 the melting of the polar ices had got to the point where the rising sea level was becoming more and more obvious. It was clear that most of the land mass eventually would end up under water. In year 2148 more than 90 percent of the earth was covered with water. The temperature had now stabilized and the melting of the polar ices stopped. People now lived on hugh floating cities anchored to the remaining land. It is now year 2164 and a new serious problem has been discovered. The water is becoming contaminated with an unknown deadly pollutant. Whatever it is, it’s not coming from the humans. The source of the contamination is clearly located under the water. A team in an explorer submarine is sent down to try to find out what’s causing the contamination and discovers underwater constructions on the ocean floor built by an unknown alien race. The Constructions are polluting the oceans by dumping a poisonous substance into the water. When the explorer team is taking a closer look at one of the Constructions, the team is attacked by alien underwater vehicles and barely escapes. How long the Constructions have been there and how they got there without being discovered we don’t know but now they are threatening life on earth. You have been assigned to destroy the Constructions to save the water and stop the alien invasion. Have fun and watch out! 2 The Main Menu Use the Up and Down Arrow keys and Return key to select options in the main menu. Start a new game. Play a saved game. Game settings. Credits and info. Quit the game. You can also press Esc or Command-Q to quit. 3 The Graphics and Sound Settings Use the Up and Down Arrow keys and Return key to turn settings on and off. - Show Alien Bubble Trails When this setting is turned on, alien bubble trails will be shown. - Lots of Fish Turn this setting on to have a lot of fish in the game. - Lots of Plants Turn this on to have a lot of seaweed in the game. - Play Background Music Turn this setting on to have background music playing in the game. - Sound FX Turn this setting off if you don’t want sound effects in the game. - Stiff Camera Mode as default Turn on to set stiff camera mode as the default camera mode. - Play Menu Screens Music Toggles the menu music on and off. 4 Game Play The goal is to destroy all the Constructions in each level. When you have destroyed the Constructions in a level you will be able to proceed to the next level. You also have to option of saving the game at this point. In order to be able to destroy the Constructions you first have to destroy all the alie…
