One Finger Snap A right mouse button for one button mice Thank you for trying One Finger Snap by Old Jewel Software. One Finger Snap is a Preference Pane that brings up the contextual menu whenever you click and hold the mouse button down. This means that you can do everything with a single- button mouse that you can do with a 2- button mouse in Mac OS X. System Requirements: One Finger Snap requires Mac OS X 10.3 or later to run. It also makes use of the "Enable Assistive Devices" feature in the Universal Access preference pane. Installation: To install One Finger Snap: • double-click the OneFingerSnap.prefpane file. • Your System Preferences application will load right away. • A sheet may appear asking if you want to install One Finger Snap just for the current user or for all users on your computer. If you aren't sure, just choose "Install for this user only" and click the "Install" button. • If you see the default list of preference panes, then look for and click the 1 Finger Snap icon. • From now on, simply open System Preferences and click the 1 Finger Snap icon to access One Finger Snap. Starting One Finger Snap: To start One Finger Snap: • Open the One Finger Snap preference pane. • Click the button labeled "Start One Finger Snap" Stopping One Finger Snap: To turn One Finger Snap off: • Open the One Finger Snap preference pane. • Click the button labeled "Stop One Finger Snap" Turning on Access for Assistive Devices: One Finger Snap uses Mac OS X's accessibility routines to know whether the mouse is currently over a screen element that can be right-clicked (like a text field) or one that should not be right-clicked (like a scroll bar). If you find that One Finger Snap is clicking at times when it shouldn't, then you can turn on Access for Assistive Devices. • Open System Preferences. • Click the icon for the Universal Access preference pane. It has a blue icon with a person inside it. • Check the checkbox labeled "Enable access for assistive devices" Using One Finger Snap: You can use One Finger Snap in any application that offers a contextual menu. Instead of right-clicking (or control-clicking), just click and hold the mouse button down until you hear a sound like the sound of a finger snapping (the screen will also flash briefly at the same time). Then release your mouse button and the contextual menu will appear. If you move your mouse outside of the current window while you're holding down the mouse button, then One Finger Snap realizes that you're performing a drag and it doesn't bring up the contextual menu. Selecting with One Finger Snap: One Finger Snap will let you use all the selection methods you're used to. • Double-click a word, but keep the mouse button down for the second click, and that word will be highlighted and t…

OSA Menu 1.0.1 Written by Leonard Rosenthol Copyright ©1992-1994, Leonard Rosenthol. Installation: If you are reading this, you've probably already done half the installation! The only other thing to do is to drag the OSA Menu icon over your System folder. Doing so will cause the Finder to inform you that "Extensions go in the Extensions folder" - this is a good thing, and you should click the "OK" button. Now restart your Mac, and you'll be all ready to use OSA Menu. Description: The OSA Menu is an iconic system menu (like the Help menu) that appears on the right side of the menu bar. Its menu items are scripts: choose an item from the menu and the script will run. Some commands are always available, and some are only available within particular applications. Generally the target of the script is the active application, and scripts that operate on the user selection are particularly useful. Scripts in the OSA Menu act like extensions to the command set of the application. The main advantage to scripts in the menu is that you can call them up with one mouse click without leaving the current application. This is most useful in applications that are scriptable (such as the Finder and Aladdin Systems' StuffIt Deluxe & Lite), but require you to switch to another application. BUT NO MORE!! Now you can just choose the script you want to run from the OSA Menu. The scripts live in a folder called "Scripts" in your System folder, and each application gets its own subfolder of the "Scripts" folder with the scripts specific to that application as well as a "Universal Scripts" folder for scripts that you wish to access in all applications. What's in the Menu: The menu has three parts: * On top are the fixed commands. Right now there’s only one: the "About OSA Menu" command that displays an About box. * Below those are the universal scripts, which always appear. * At the bottom are the scripts for the active application. At the end of each set of scripts is an underlined command that, when chosen, tells the Finder to open the folder for those scripts. For instance, when SITcomm is active there is an "Open SITcomm Scripts Folder" command that opens the "SITcomm Scripts" folder. These folders are like the Apple Menu Items folder: any script files placed in them immediately appear in the scripting menu. (They must be compiled scripts (including Applets and Droplets), not text files.) Command Keys: It is possible to assign a command key to a script by using a special naming convention. If the name of a script ends with a '\' followed by another character, then that character will be used as the command key for the script. For example, the script named "Time Check\T" will have a command key of "T" in the menu. Page 1 Use of option or control characters in a menu name is not officially supported, due to a limitation of the Macintosh Menu Manager. They MAY work, but if they don't, I am sorry and I have no plans …

Welcome to Odell Down Under Dive into the Odell Down Under™ software program, where the shimmering tropical colors often mask the minute-to-minute struggle for survival. Living as a member of the reef community is more than just a pleasure dive. When you enter Odell Down Under, you will pit all of your skills against the best the reef has to offer. As you become one of over 50 reef dwellers, you must learn to identify predators and prey, avoid poisonous snacks, and not waste all of your energy (and points) chasing down a meal. Odell Down Under offers four levels of play, with an almost endless array of games. To get your feet wet, start with Practice, where you learn about the reef inhabitants as you try out your fins. Successfully avoiding the electric ray and finding food is an acquired skill. When you are ready, Challenge rewards you with increasingly larger fish to play. For a creative turn, design your own fish with Create-A-Fish and see if you score more points than with the fish that nature has designed. Once you’ve conquered all the levels, proceed to the grand Tournament, where you test your skills against all of the fish on the reef. The ultimate goal is to become the Great White Shark and swim off to open sea in search of new prey. A note to parents. The drama of survival and the lure of the Great White Shark in Odell Down Under will keep your kids so busy enjoying themselves that they won’t even realize how much they are learning. As they work to survive, your kids will sharpen their observation skills, develop problem-solving strategies, create and test hypotheses, and learn about food chains, food webs, and natural communities. A note to kids. Australia, sharks, and swimming all day—it’s like a vacation in your own room. Do you have the brains and strength to either outswim or outsmart your prey? Sure you do! Odell Down Under User’s Guide Requirements Odell Down Under requires the following hardware and software: • Macintosh LC (68020 or higher CPU required) with CD-ROM drive • System 6.0.7 or later • 2 MB free RAM • Color display • Hard disk • 32-bit QuickDraw (If it is not built into your system, look for it on Apple’s Printing Tools disk or System Additions disk.) * If you don’t know which version of the System you have, pull down your a menu and look for the System Software version under “About the Finder...” or “About this Macintosh.” Getting Started Putting the Software on Your Macintosh 1. Quit all other applications that you may be running 2. Insert the Odell Down Under CD-ROM into your drive. A copyright screen will appear. Please read this information, a…
