Read Me Pro Tools 8.0.5 on Windows and Mac OS X - Resolved Issues This document lists the issues resolved in Pro Tools 8.0.5. General Pro Tools Issues When using the Save Copy In command to save a copy of a session, if the session was saved at a different sample rate, Send automation would inadvertently change duration. In addition, the duration of automation on sample-based Instrument tracks was not converted correctly. (PTSW-135550) When using Save Copy In to save a session at a different sample rate, Send automation is properly sample rate converted. All automation on sample-based instrument tracks is now sample-rate-converted. While playing back a session, if you clicked or made a selection in any of the Pro Tools counters, playback was interrupted. (PTSW-57055) When you click or make a selection in a counter field, playback is not interrupted until a new value is entered, either by typ- ing in the counter field and pressing Return (Mac) or Enter (Windows), or by dragging in the counter field. Choosing “Select > Unused” from the Region List menu would incorrectly clear the Undo queue. (PTSW-135605) Choosing “Select > Unused” from the Region List menu leaves the Undo queue untouched. Pro Tools was regenerating fades instead of relinking to existing fade files, resulting in additional fade files and longer session open times. (PTSW-125305) Pro Tools now looks for a Fades folder before regenerating fades. When Pro Tools preferences are set to “Latch Forward/Rewind,” Numeric keypad is set to “Transport,” and “Use separate play and stop keys” is enabled, the Pro Tools UI would freeze but still play back after a Rewind and Play command. (PTSW-130160) The Pro Tools UI now responds normally when a Rewind and Play command is issued under these conditions. The Edit window Continuous Scrolling option performed considerably worse with PT 8.0.3/8.0.4 on Windows than in previous releases. (PTSW-127439) - Windows Only Continuous Scroll performance on Windows has been improved to match or exceed the performance of 8.0.1cs2. On a Pro Tools system with dual monitors positioned vertically, clicking in the Edit window reduces it to only fit in the top monitor. (PTSW-124174) - Mac Only Clicking in the Edit Window will no longer reduces it to only fit in the top monitor. When a window is moved, resized or clicked, and all of it is visible, it stays in its original location. Pro Tools posts an error when a Quit command was issued under certain conditions, such as an open dialog box. (PTSW-136652) - Windows Only Pro Tools no longer posts an error when quitting with certain interface elements open. Pro Tools 8.0.5 on Windows and Mac OS X - Resolved Issues — 3/4/11 1 When copying Send Pan automation and pasting it to another track with the Copy Special > Pan Automation command, the Send Pan automation is incorrectly pasted into the Main Pan playlist. This occurs when the Send Pan on the …

Probability anagrams program documentation Original Version written in Turbo Pascal for the IBM by Bob Keefer, Copyright 1985. Converted to Lightspeed Pascal by Michael Kohne, August 24,1988. This program takes words of up to 10 letters, and re-arranges them into every possible anagram. It then uses a probability table to look up every tri-gram(three letter sequence) in the words, and evalute the probability that the word is an english word. The probabilities table is stored in an external file, 'Prob.dat', and can be added to, or, by deleting the old one, created with this program. When you run the program, you will immediately be confronted by a dialog box that tells you to wait while it reads the probability data. If the probablity data file is not found, another dialog box will appear, telling you that you must select a text file for input. Hitting the cancle button at this stage will cause the program to exit. Pressing the Select File button, or pressing return, will get you a standard select file dialog box. Use this to select the input text file. If the Prob.dat file was in the same directory as the anagram program, you will not get this dialog. The input file should be a fairly long text file, filled with english text. This is used to create the probability data file. After reading in the data, you wil be presented with a standard Save file dialog Box, with the filename 'Prob.dat' already in it. Save the Prob.dat file in the same directory as the anagram program. You should not have to create a new Probability data file, as the program is distributed with a good one(input text file for the included Prob.dat was 677K long). If you wish to add to the current data file, simply select the 'Add to Datafile' option under the file menu. Now that that is all finished, you can anagram words. Type any word of up to 10 characters into the text box provided in the main window. When you have done this, press the buttoon labled 'Anagram', or press return to begin anagramming the word. You may press command-period at anytime to halt the anagramming process and see the current results. Bob Keefer is responsible for the idea, design, and implementation of the anagraming routines in this program. I converted them from IBM Turbo Pascal and put a mac interface on them. The original IBM version of this program(Bob Keefer's original code) was published in Byte Magazine. This program and it's documentation are more or less in the public domain. More in that anyone may use it with no charge, less in that no one may charge anything more than a copying fee for distributing it. Also, this document must be distributed along with the Anagram program, along with the original Prob.dat file.

Process Manager 1.4.2 Copyright © 1995-99 Ammon Skidmore Skidperfect Software, Inc. <skidperfect@kagi.com> http://www.pair.com/ammon/skidperfect/ Freeware! Contents: About this module Description Feature summary Compatibility Troubleshooting Distribution Contacting the author Disclaimer • About this module: Description: Process Manager is a control strip module that allows you to view and switch with ease between your Mac's processes (running programs.) It works with Control Strip and is Extensions Strip Savvy. To install, place Process Manager in your Control Strip Modules folder. If you are using Extensions Strip, I like to place Process Manager in its own strip window positioned vertically at the top right of your main monitor. Process Manager is FAT binary, so PowerPC native code will load if you are using at least Extensions Strip 1.8 or Control Strip 2.0. Feature summary: • Simple usage is to click on an icon to switch between programs. If you drag files over a process icon, they will be opened within the chosen program. • Clicking and holding down the mouse on a process icon will display a menu allowing you to quit the program among other things. Selecting "Filter out this process" will hide the selected program from appearing in the list. • Clicking on the module with the command ( ) key down will display a menu that allows you to access the about box, preferences, and change the filter (the processes ignored from being drawn). • The About Box contains many tips for using Process Manager. The Preferences has various settings such as nine hot keys for switching between processes. It is pretty self-explanatory. • Extensive balloon help for the different processes. Hold down the SHIFT key and click on a process icon to display this. • Extensions Strip savvy. See the next section for the features this provides. Compatibility: Process Manager was designed to take advantage of the powerful features of Extensions Strip while retaining backward compatibility with Control Strip. Extensions Strip was originally written to overcome various technical limitations in the Control Strip API. So if you use Extensions Strip as your module host, you can do the following things: - Have hot keys. - Display large icons. - Display icons vertically. - Automatically update the length/height of the strip. - Drag a process icon outside of the strip (Control Strip prevents this when the Finder is in front). - Display an open/save dialog. - Send Apple Events from within non-Apple Event aware programs. - Display Balloon help from clicking. (Process Manager does this when you SHIFT-click on an icon. For some reason Control Strip fails to display the balloon.) - Resolve remote aliases intelligently. - If you click on a process icon while the CPU is busy, and then move the mouse away, Process Manager remembers where the mouse click was. The same holds true for clicks with modifier keys held down (PM always remembers what key was down if it was…
