I acquired a IIvi the other day. Sadly, it expired within the first 5 minutes of being on
I think the power supply is bad.

Think bigger. It's an awful machine....IIvi ..... I think the power supply is bad.
Incredibly rare and desirable though.Think bigger. It's an awful machine....IIvi ..... I think the power supply is bad.
Any chance it was cold and bringing it into the house condensed water in the power supply? Could be you just popped a fuse and replacing it when the unit has dried out will cure it.
I have a IIvx. It's ugly as sin, is a II with 68030 and doesn't support A/UX.Incredibly rare and desirable though.
Possible although I had let it sit about 3 hours before powering it up and it was not an overly cold day (I got home and found that Mr Postman had left it on my back steps). First thing I plan to do is check the fuse once I take it apart and locate the said fuseAny chance it was cold and bringing it into the house condensed water in the power supply? My IIvi is rare and desirable? Wow, never heard it called that before.
How is the 3.6v half-AA battery?
Well the fuse tests ok, and I put power across the battery holder but no go. I guess it goes into the dead Mac pile for now....
You have a pile of dead machines? I just have a IIcx and an 840av that need recapped, rest work 100%. Not too bad for 40+ machines.
Not really - just some that do require troubleshooting or more extensive repair (time consuming jobs). You have a pile of dead machines? I just have a IIcx and an 840av that need recapped, rest work 100%. Not too bad for 40+ machines.
Maybe more so in the US. I have never seen one except pictures and I have seen a LOT of old Macs. I think these are the only Apple things I've never even seen, some simply by chance:My IIvi is rare and desirable? Wow, never heard it called that before.
