Hello from a noob
Hello everyone from a noob
I currently don't have any 68K Mac hardware, though my first computer was an LC and I am looking to get some stuff (like maybe a Quadra 950, with that sexy, sexy case of its) For the moment though, I'll mainly be emulating and leeching

Now, now... You're only a "noob" if you use a PC and/or piss us all off. If not, then you're a "newbie".
Actually, I've already got Basilisk II up and running. It's quite cool to be able to use all the classic Mac programs on my Linux box. Heck with the LaserWriter driver's ability to print to a file and Basilisk II's ability to read/write from the host computer, I can actually do useful work inside the Mac environment.
Basilisk II works, but then again, it doesn't. I got a B&W G3 today, and although its not a 68K, it is lovely to be able to enjoy native Mac OS 9. Nothing beats real hardware! ;DActually, I've already got Basilisk II up and running. It's quite cool to be able to use all the classic Mac programs on my Linux box. yeah, nothing beats silent worktime inside of Word 5.1 on a fanless computer and only the faint noise of a zip drive whirring away.
You may want to check out the Trading Post section for some real Macs to get going with. They are much more fun

Even the Mac SEs get neglected.
An SE/30 might be an option for me, but some of the stuff I want to do would really be happiest with something like a IIfx or a Quadra... As my odds of getting a IIfx are practically nil, a Quadra is my best bet.
I do plan on getting a classic Mac as soon as funds can be gathered, however.

If I may, the Quadra 650 is a great all-around Quadra. Mine has yet to fail me in any way in terms of performance. An SE/30 might be an option for me, but some of the stuff I want to do would really be happiest with something like a IIfx or a Quadra... Welcome to the forum, Madcrow!
I don't own any 68k hardware either, unfortunately... but I have an iMac G3 than runs OS9 so I'm happy for now.
I think the towers are a little easier to upgrade, etc. than the compact classic models. The Quadra would be a good choice -- it's a great machine.

I have a Quadra 660av (25mhz) and it works fine, not a total speed demon, but meh. I suppose it would go faster if I got an accelerator. My personal favorite vintage Mac that I own is the Plus, because it works flawlessly for me. :beige:
