Aye, these two.Me! They were actually designed for AppleFritter 2.0, but were adopted here as well. The original thread about them is here here, though all the images are now long dead. A couple (such as 8-o , :lol: and the original version of xx( ) have been contributed by others since. I think iMac600 made the first two, but I'm not sure (off hand) who made the third.Who made the origional

Initially it was just the "eek" which was supposed to be a non-animated Mac smiley with big eyes, but I think you added the animation to it shortly before it was made part of the default smiley set. The laughing Mac smiley was my second, which I made after getting the idea from the Australian Magna Club forums and realised we had no default smiley to express humour or laughter. That one was animated from the start.

Yeah. The new one looks like he is having a seizure or something.
IMO, neither of the rolling eyes emoticons really depict "rolling one's eyes" very well. :-/ But yeah, the first one was much better.
We need a variant of :?: if we want to have all startup icons represented. We need one that goes from ? to X to ? to represent what happens when a bad disk is placed in the drive.
