I dunno. FedEx packed/destroyed a Color Classic I got.
Funny you would say that, Uniserver. When I used insure packages, I would insure it for double it's worth. And it would go through with care. But with no insurance, they would use it as a soccer ball they have at their man distribution site! The reason is, they do not want to pay for damage done.Hopefully he atleast insured the darn thing.
I remember sending glass figurine to an ex years ago. The figurine was about 4in tall X 2in X 2in. I wrapped in newspaper and then in flexi foam (thin foam sheets that can bend without breaking) and then in packing peanuts in a box bigger than a shoe box. Took it to USPS, and told the postal-lady that it was fragile. She took out her "FRAGILE" Stamp (6in across) and banged each side of the box with it! She basically destroyed that little figurine then and there.
With Macs, I've been very lucky. All survived the trip but all the boxes look like they went through trench warfare before arriving to my home. One box I received a 1400 in looks like Cookie Monster took a huge bite out of the side corner! I should have taken a photo of it before throwing out the box.
well the item you'll get from unity i am sure will be a lot better packed. but if its smashed like the one in the picture... or thrown, i dunno man... Shucks any way you cut it, a smashed vintage mac is sad.
Yes i'm very excited to get an SE from an enthusiast. I'm going to have fun with the SE until I find myself not playing with it much. I think after that I am going to move up to a Mac II to start having fun with add on cards. Maybe a vintage mac per year. haha.well the item you'll get from unity i am sure will be a lot better packed. but if its smashed like the one in the picture... or thrown, i dunno man... At a vintage Mac a year, it would take you 25 years to get them all and then all the nice new stuff now will be vintage by then! (LOL!)Yes i'm very excited to get an SE from an enthusiast.
