It was a beige G3 running OS 8.1 with AppleShare IP installed, and a SCSI card and second NIC installed in the PCI slots
Sweet! I got one of those a while back and it's on the list for restoration. I need to check out what's on it but it would be cool to compare your software to mine. I'd like to have mine as "original" as possible.

Now what software do I use to utilize its video capture capabilities?
If it's booting the OS that was on it when you found it, there's every chance the software you need is already installed. Mostly extensions and control panels.

There used to be a great FAQ on the AV Quadras by one James Wang, but all I can find right now is an archive.org copy of the index to his site. Poke around there and see what you can find.

So does this mean that I just use QuickTime to capture video through the port?
