Did I just ruin my Power Mac G3 (BW)?

I absent-mindedly removed a stick of RAM and popped in a replacement while the computer was turned off BUT still plugged in to the wall outlet.

Now it doesn't turn on. Removed the ram (while unplugged), still no love.

Did I fry my Mac?

The Power Mac G3 (Blue and White, at least) is very sensitive to hardware changes, I've had one refuse to boot after installing a hard drive.

Was that the end of the line for your G3, or did it ever come back to life?

You are my hero. While I thought I had tried resetting the PMU, reading through the precise directions you linked to reminded me to unplug all peripherals! Tried again and it worked. Thank you so much! :)
