my PCB order just came in from china.

they turned out well.

now… i just need to:

Order up some parts

and get a few together.

- program my Sceeed thing.

- use my sceeed thing to program these.

These are pretty rad. I hope mmcmaster is successful with the 2.5" version too.

yeah man!

I like how simplistic it is!

Here is a picture showing the difference between

2 different versions,

the one on the right is a SCSI TO IDE/CF

but it also has a SD connection as well… the one on the right uses a Z80 CPU and a ton of other stuff as well to get the job done.

These old slow SCSI bus macs, the SD version is perfect, I think.

the 2.5" version is going to have a stronger demand IMHO. The 3.5, you can use the SCA drives, and stuff in. powerbooks you cant. at least not easily.

yeah i still have a few 10k 73gig 2.5" SCA hard drives… :-)

I still think they are a fantastic modern hard drive in vintage mac solution.

Yea, i would use those for the 3.5" stuffs. but for 2.5" we need that revised PCB, as it would be the ONLY solution outside of the aztech monster.

My project totally failed. At least someone was able to complete one

That, but I hit a huge brick wall, considering the code was actually GPLed/someone elses so I didnt understand its operation well enough to figure out how to fix it. Then i just gave up. It turned out to be one of those projects that I invested alot of time and money on, with a bad outcome. The code was actually ONLY SCSI-3 compliant, and barely. So SCSI-1 and 2 never even saw it or attempted to see it. my SCSI-3 PCI card saw the drive just fine but never worked right.

I stayed the #@<|< outtta' that thread so's I wouldn't jinx it. :-/

Has anyone put the pads for the Luggable's idiotic PC-FDD Connector and a straight thru IDC cable hookup on one of these board layouts? :?:
