Wedge or Teardrop?
well, I have both. I had to hook one of them up to my G3 since the USB mouse is being used on something else. I choose the teardrop, it has much better tracking, and it's broken in more than my wedge, which is more of a collectors item, as it looks new. No wear.
so, what's your poison between the two?
btw, if you don't know, the boxy Apple ADB Mouse I=wedge, the rounded Apple ADB mouse=teardrop.

Wedge. The mouse button on the tear drops are too exposed and too delicate so I frequently get mis-clicks. For some odd reason, I also find the boxy configuration more ergonomic (maybe because there is that back face to rest the ball of my palm.
I like the feel of the teardrop better, but as was said above, the button is a bit delicate and I frequently end up having to click 2 or 3 times before it responds. I think the button contact inside wears out or gets dirt buildup that interferes with it. I disassemble mine and keep it as clean as I can, but I still have problems with it. I think it is getting close to replacement time for that one. Luckily I have quite a few of them from all the machines I have acquired over the years.
I only have a teardrop, sadly.
I like the feel of the teardrop mouse, but I like the wedge better. The button on it is soooooo much nicer.
I must say, I actually like them both. The teardrop is more comfortable to use but the wedge really cuts it in terms of "retro" style and the nice button. Given the choice though I would probably go with the teardrop.
I also prefer the teardrop. More ergonomic for my hand. I like both actually but the teardrop just feels better.
Of course, both of them beat the early IBM mice.

Teardrop for Macs, but I like the square one for the IIgs.

Yeah, I figured those would come up. Still, even those look more ergonomic than the mouse I showed in the picture. That IBM mouse made your wrist bend up since most of the curve went upwards up until the buttons. Talk about giving you an early case of CTS. :-/
The Apple IIc mouse rules above all. But for ADB, I'd go with wedge because it's a classic.
Wedge. It feels better in design for me, the button is nice... etc.
However, the "Brick" has its advantages too.

I actually have 2 bricks. the biege one for my Mac Plus, and a white one for an Apple IIc I found at a computer sale for $3. I use the white one because the button is wider, and it has less wear.

I've never used the wedge, so I guess teardrop.
I think we can all agree that all of the mice mentioned are WAY better than the iMac hockey puck mouse. [xx(] ]'>

I personally prefer the ADB Mouse II (teardrop)...it just feels completely perfect.

Lol...but on top of that they're also good for ensuring that USB ports are functioning.
I do! What's wrong with the puck mice? They match the G3 iMacs. I haven't seen another mouse that matches my Tangerine trayloader as well as the puck mice do. I prefer the later ones with the indent though.
Between the ADB I or ADB II, I prefer the ADB I. It's more clicky.
Over the ADB I mouse I prefer trackballs, like my Kensington TurboMouse 5.0.i mostly agree, i think the puck mice work just fine. and i like the originals before the indent, the indent always annoyed me.
Same...they do feel uncomfortable after a while, but to be honest they're not that bad. I keep mine around as a spare for testing USB ports, and when i'm charging up the batts for my cordless mouse.
Well, if I come across any of them I'll send them your way. I just can't stand them. I can at least moderately tolerate the one with the indent, but the non-indented one just keeps moving out of place, requiring me to look down at intervals to make sure that it hasn't moved again....that just ends up wasting my time. Maybe as a collector's item or as a USB test device as mentioned earlier, but it's just not practical IMO for regular use. :-/

Yeah...mine's an indented one, thank God...you gotta have an indented one or else its very difficult to feel which way is up.
i used one for a good year, first on my imac then on my yosemite until i got a two button logitech mouse. nothing really wrong with the puck, but having two buttons and a scroll wheel are just much more convenient.
They just look a really uncomfortable shape to hold - there must be a reason why all other mice are roughly the conventional shape and not round! Are they not uncomfortable? I wouldn't mind having one/some for collectability purposes though!
I like the Puck mice. I had a MacAlley mouse that matched my iMac, but it was crappy.

well its a hate it or love it design, definitely, but for me it doesn't get any better than the first day i opened up my imac (with a whopping 96MB ram and a 4GB HD thx very much), got out the mini-keyboard and the usb puck mouse and started playing Quake.They just look a really uncomfortable shape to hold - there must be a reason why all other mice are roughly the conventional shape and not round!
