Cheapest/best wireless ADSL connection?
I'm looking to replace my USB ADSL modem with an Ethernet option, but I would also like to have Airport Internet access at the same time.
What's the best option here - Speedtouch 570 or a wireless router (eg Airport basestation) in conjunction with a DSL Ethernet modem/router?
Price is important, but not as much as quality.

If you can stump up the cash, i'd rather go the Apple route.. IE get an Apple AirPort base station (A nice RELLIABLE Mk II Snow coloured version!). And any reasonable Ethernet adsl modem.. I got an Alcatel 510 4 port which is great. And has been 100% relliable. And the Airport side of things was very easy to set up too..

I use an Alcatel 570 at home, and an apple airport in bridge only mode to extend the coverage of the 570 to the upper floor. (The 570 lives in the basement)
The coverage is adequate, the web configuration is relatively simple, the "firewall" is not too great, but I don't use it since I'm NAT and so on. It's been very reliable. One little bug / gripe. For the time being, you'll need to manually set the MTU on the connected machines to 1492 or you'll have connectivity problems through the modem, since it combines the PPPoE and NAT client internal to the modem.
One caveat. I expect there will be a revision to the 570 sometime within the next three to six months to support uPnP and maybe some other goodies. You should however be able to pick up the 570 relatively cheaply on eBay.
Cheers,
Ben,
