No matter how many google searches i do, i cannot get my G4 w/airport card to talk to my iBook w/airport card.

I create a network, i choose join on the other machine... now what?

i can't connect to either machine from the Connect to Server in the finder, and appletalk is on for both, as both machines play nice when using the ethernet cables

anyone got a step by step guide?
do i need to match tcp/ip details?
bueller?

You then need to tell AppleTalk and/or TCP/IP (depending on how you connect; the Chooser essentially uses AppleTalk) to use Airport instead of ethernet.

Do you have 10.2?

10.2 on the iBook, 10.1.5 on the G4

and when you mean "essentially", tooki, do you mean airport at the top of the network list?
