Printer sharing between PC and iBook
This is my first time posting to the forums. I tried looking through the current postings but I couldn't piece together everything that I would like to do. Here is the story:
I have an iBook that I recently upgraded to the Jaguar OS. I have a Dell desktop that is running Windows 98 SE. I would like to be able to use the two printers connected to the Dell. The printers are connected via USB and serial port.
Through the postings I have been able to get the Mac to see my PC but this is where the problem begins. I have everything checked off in the sharing menu. When I go into the Finder on the mac and "go to network" it gives me an error message when it is trying to connect. The message is "error 50". I was wondering if anyone could provide me with any assistance in trying to figure this problem out. Believe me, I have been trying but I a stuck. If anyone could provide me with any detailed procedure for networking so I could check all my steps that would also be helpful. Thanks for any help!!!!!!!!v

what is your network setup? router?
have you turned on printer sharing from within Windows? You'll have to configure Windows to share those printers.
From Jaguar, make sure you've checked the box that says 'show printers connected to other computers' (or something of the sort).

Get a different MS operating system. Win2K or XP is your best bet.
