Random thoughts (theming news, etc)
1. Matt (invisibleX) gave me Xia Mia, I'm working on it now.
Here's some screenies:
Tia Mia (Tangerine)

Gia Mia (Graphite)

2. Would there be interst in a completely translucent theme? (Think of aqua windows made of glass)
That is all for now. More screenshots/ mockups to come.

Why wouldnt you start with an Aqua theme file to assure that your release doesnt accidentally include another themers work?
Its pretty easy to do using a resource app like Resorcerer or ResEx, prolly only take about 5 minutes.

I think a translusent theme would be pretty cool (with a graphite version, not just aqua).
I hate to be the thorn in the shoe. But I also was thinking of doing a transparent type of theme until i realized that you can not do it because of the ppats they are only one layer. you need three in order to make a translucent/parent theme.

Yeah, I tried this as well... the titlebars look brilliant, but not everything will draw transparent (ppats for example) and many elements are actually layered on top of opaque regions (I guess the inclusion of Alpha transparency is just in there to accomodate shadows and smooth edges for many of the elements in Aqua). Personally I think it would be amazing if it could be pulled off, though... not just for glass, but for holographic headsup-style interfaces (like the visor graphics in Metroid Prime).

yes totally sweet. I think somehow it is possible. somehow we are missing a file or not looking into the extras file good enough and are not enhancing the possibilities that are within it. I am sure there is more out there that we can not see. who knows really.. im sure someone off desktopper will figure something out. I think it would be sweet if we could have the holographic type you are talking about and then add three d elements into it so it looks like you are just floating around in your system. also i think animated gifs and maybe some flash or something should be able to be imported into the extras file. just imagine what you could do then with a sweet ass flash animation in your menu bar or title bar. or even buttons that truly are sweet. somehow this has to be possible. some program should be made that imports these files into the extras file and tells the system to read them how they are supposed. maybe give the system gui more file extensions somehow? i hope so! sorry for the ramble but this is intense!
I think it would be tough to get translucency all through the OS. The problem is that it's possible for code to tell the OS to optimize its drawing by telling it that various elements are opaque. I'm not sure how this would be reconciled with a transparent theme.

well someone needs to find out a way to do it! i doubt it is really possible without the actual apple source code for the GUI but find someone that works for apple and created OS X!!! find everyone that helped on it and badger them!

Oh btw smeger, Windowshade X can make windows transparent, but still functional. Hope this helps.

Not a bad theme, just not my style. Maybe an Aqua variation??
This is faaaar better than your first attempts which made me cringe

Thanks for your ongoing support.
I like the theme, nice work.
However, if the scroll bar buttons don't get changed I'll never use it.. They're absolutely hideously ugly.

Don't worry, I'll change 'em.
Here's (possibly) the boot panel for Gia Mia. Let me know what you guys think:
