does anyone else find this humorous?
Does anyone else find it humorous when anti-war protests turn violent? I have no problem with people peacefully protesting. I understand that there can be frustrations. However, war in itself is violent act and protesting it with violence is just darn funny to me.
What irritates me about some of the protests is that the protesters -- some of them, not all -- infringe on the rights of others by blocking doors, roads, etc.
Stand on the corner and yell all you want, but don't freakin' prevent others from going about their business -- some people are paid by the hour and only get paid when they clock-in, for example.
As important as protesting is to some people, the vast majority of people have schedules to keep -- stay out of their way.

Blocking business is one thing (and is bad enough)...but putting the lives of others in danger is quite another. Ambulances, fire trucks and police cars need to be able to get through the streets these very protesters are blocking.
Australia is a bit like England when it comes to protesting and protestors. The majority of the people attending a protest march are peaceful and want to get their message across without violence.
Then there is the group of thugs who have no interest in the cause of the march - they do what they enjoy doing - destroying property and smacking heads. They're less than 1% of the protestors but the media centre on them as a peaceful protest march is boring whereas a riot makes for a better (more sensational) story.
I find I am getting more intolerant of violent protestors - I believe the authorities should greet them with water canons and pepper spray.
