well its like i thought before. and not trying to put anyone down. but this apparently proves the point that you can pretty much say whatever (as long as its coming from an arab source) and the majority of arabs will take it as the truth.

we all look at "baghdad bob" and laugh because its so rediculous what he is saying, and complete lies. but obviously the arab world is taking it as the truth.

I think he's trying to find out who told YOU the arab world believes such and such...you know, like a link or something.
Most of the arab world doesn't believe in Santa Claus either.

I suppose that that is propaganda too.

Almost. I admit it was a difficult to understand socratic question.
Who cares? Let them think otherwise - doesn't make an inch of difference. Maybe it'll get through to them the next time they phone the Ministry of Information and instead of speaking with Abdul they'll get Chris from Ohio.

Sand & Camels..? Sand & Camels..? Sand & Camels..? Sand & Camels..? Sand & Camels..? Sand & Camels..? Sand & Camels..? Sand & Camels..? Sand & Camels..? Sand & Camels..? Sand.. Camels.. ?

Sand?

Camels..

Nah, sod it - i'll go with snow and Reindeer..

(Oh and give us a suit in Coca-Cola's colours, too.. I've got a feeling that they're gonna be big)
That is very difficult to believe.

Abu Dhabi TV live (WindowsMedia):
mms://62.146.11.9/abu_dhabi_tv_300.wmv?cid=48260

Al Jazeera TV live (RealMedia):
rtsp://80.126.50.3/encoder/rtcg.rm

They are both reporting from Baghdad, and show signs of streetfights.

This apparently proves the point that you can pretty much say whatever (as long as its coming from an american source) and snotnose/mixing visuals will take it as the truth.

i am not making up what i heard so no need to get defensive and make direct statements like that at me. the news was on when i walked in and thats what i heard, i didn't hear anything else.

the misinformation minister was saying that all the video that the US was in baghdad was all fake too. any chance that when arab stations had that playing that many people believed it?

Are you only capable of talking out of your ass, or is there some kind of physical disability we should all know about?

Since you started this thread maybe it would be appropriate that you provided a link or two to back up your statements. Do that and we'll certainly find something to prove you wrong.

Arab friends, read many languages that makes it possible to read many different views, Al-Jazeera and Abu Dabi showing images from the fighting in the center of Bagdad. Do you need more?

What makes you so positive? Because you heard it on Fox News?

Your point being?
I heard that earlier too.
It was that cute little blonde girl broadcasting out of Amman, Jordan on FoxNC. (Watched it during commercial of Men in Tights on CC)

It was around the time the tank shell hit the Palestinian Hotel and the information minister was about to give a report. I got the impression they were just trying to fill time while trying to get their translator ready to go. She was just giving her opinion of some badly worded questions and overgeneralized a bit.

Speak arab? Did I ever say that I spoke arabic? I speak a couple of languages, never claimed I spoke arabic. What I seem to know more than you does not come from speaking arabic, it comes from the things I mentioned above.

the difficulty is that the report you refer to is an absolute, without wiggle room for variance in point of view in the arab world. It assumes monolithic beliefs merely based on someone's religion or ethnic background.

Since its set up as an absolute, all that anyone has to provide is knowlege of one exception to disprove it.

so, therefore, as long as they know even one person who knows that coalition forces are in Baghdad, or one arab news service who shows same, then the absolute supposition of the reporter you vaguely quote is proven moot.

Its the way you set up the thread...sorry. That's why everyone is rolling their eyes...and so, I shall contribute mine as well:

then how can you? same/same.
thus far, you've provided little in the way of support. He at least has mentioned knowing people who would know....you....nothing.
