Shaolin Soccer!!!
Shaolin Soccer (aka Kung-Fu Soccer) is awesome...
It got a 100% fresh rating at Rotten Tomatoes.
It is a terminally stupid movie, but still @#$@#%@#$ hilarious. Think of stupid Hong Kong kung-fu flicks, soccer, and the Matrix all mixed into one bizarre flick.
I saw the Chinese one with English subtitles. It's coming to the rest of the world in August, but unfortunately, it's being cut down to 86 minutes from 111 and dubbed in English.

Haha, I watched that a few months back. That is one funny movie!! LOL, kung-fu, gymnastics, monks, and soccer all in one movie!
I watched it on DVD anyway. It was a big hit in Hong Kong before Infernal Affairs, another box-office record breaking movie.
Too bad... the USA release was being delayed many times and shrink to 86 mins. Steven Chow is one of the best anyway.

i watched the trailer...very funny
I guess the movie has to be shortened because many parts of it are only funny because of the cantonese language, about local jokes and stuff... and those aren't interesting anymore if translated into English.
By the way, Infernal Affair kicks ass. Tony Leung's performance is just awesome.

Hahaha, funny trailer. I'm speechless. It's mighty ducks meets kung fu, meets ... ****, I don't know. Looks like a movie for when you're stoned with your buddies.
I almost rented this the other day. I want to see it sometime.

I dunno I don't speak Cantonese, and I thought the whole thing was bloody hilarious. And add a touch of drunkenness...
I can see some parts getting cut out though (although not 15 mins) and they need to improve the crappy subtitles.
I bought the Universe Laser release DVD today. The quality is pretty mediocre, but it's better than usual Universe Laser standards, and it's way better than the crappy VCD.

watched the trailer --->
I kept waiting for Chris Farley to jump out somewhere.

For those who have seen the movie (or even the trailer), this adidas commercial will seem very familiar.
I saw it on a bootleg around Easter and I was more confused than amused. I guess I didn't knwo that it was supposed to be a comedy. Makes more sense now.
Yeah, it is finally coming out on DVD now...
Was sposto be in theaters this time last year.

(in the silly way)

I saw it in class once. Unfortunately, I missed many of the jokes since it was in Cantonese with Mandarin subtitles - traditional characters, that is! Still quite funny, though it did take me a while before I realised it was a comedy and not meant to be serious...
saw it 2 years ago. it was brilliant!
I thought the first half was damn funny but I got a bit sick of it half way through.

Yeh, I saw it on DVD November 2001, with Cantonese Audio and Chinese subtitles.
Didn't understand it at all but it was great.

MINOR SPOILER
The DVD I have had the Michael Jackson parody music video cut out. Stupid. That was one the best scenes in the movie. If anything, they should have cut out most of the bar monk-singing scene.
Plus they added underwear to that goalie. Funnier with his bare behind.
