Pirates of the Caribbean= DAMN GOOD MOVIE!
My part time press operator tidbit looks just like her.
Yummie.
Yummie.
just watched this movie myself. i know its a bit late
. but i think it deserves a few words. i was preety skeptical of a disney pirate movie with depp. But i was totally blown away. it's an amazing story, a great movie, with awesome sets, music and actors. Depp was unbelievabley convincing.... im gonna go out on a limb and say that every pirate from hollywood, from this day forth will be compared to 'Jack Sparrow'.I guess he wasn a bad guy, but his portrayal of a pirate was awesome...the way he spoke, the way he moved, his gestures, etc,etc... very very convincing.
Two thumbs up. if you havent seen it yet, go rent it, you wont be disappointed.
Cheers.

This is definately my favourite movie ever. Disney + Johnny Depp + Orlando Bloom + Keira Knightley can only equal good things. I had high hopes for the Haunted Mansion movie and that was kinda.. not as good. I love how things from the rides were incorporated into the movies, though. One of the most memorable lines from the Pirates ride is "we wants the redhead!" and I don't think that was even in the movie. Bummer. I'm a big Disney geek.
My favourite Johnny Depp movie currently is BLOW.

If you watch the behind the scenes stuff, you find out WHY he was acting that way: Johnny Depp's favorite rock star is KEITH RICHARDS. So basically, Depp incorporated Keith's persona into the Jack Sparrow character. Now that I know this, the movie is even funnier in some ways.

).
I thought it had some weak bits but otherwise it was good, like Temple of Doom with pirates.
But a great movie for me is Lawrence of Arabia, 2001, etc

No wonder he looked 'familar' lol. Now that you mention it, i actually see keith richard in Jack Sparrow. He (Depp) still plays an awesome pirate though, despite the similarity with Richards.
From the previews that I saw of it on TV sounds like a great movie. I plan to purchase "Pirates of the Caribbean" when it comes out on DVD.

It's out already, fyi.
I must say, it is one of those movies that draws you right in. No matter how many times you've seen it, when it is playing you just have to sit and watch it.

We thought she looked like a thinner Winona Ryder.
I absolutely love the beginning when he rides the mast of the sinking boat into the Port. Standing there all commanding and stuff while 80% of the ship is underwater. So funny. Great movie all around.

I don't understand what the deal is with this movie... Everybody keeps on gushing praise for it, but I didn't really think it was all that outstanding. Pretty boring and repetitive, actually, and predictable.

It's fun. From the beginning to the end it is like riding on Pirates of the Caribean in Disney World, but better. They bring it up to date, great special effects. All the actors are brilliant with their characters. Johny Depp is superb, and I love how he gets into his character by incorporating real life characters. I saw him interviewed on inside the actors studio, and he's a really cool person. I just saw the 9th gate again on television, and think it is a pretty good movie too.
If you don't like him, then you probably won't like the movie.
It was all good the first time. Second time parts became a bit boring. The corset line and the actress herself sucked.
Johnny depp was the only reason to see it. Without him it would have been tragically boring.

I hated this movie. With a passion. In fact, I saw it in a packed theatre this summer and if I hadn't've sat in the middle of the row, I would've walked out three-quarters of the way through and went to see Terminator 3 for the second time.
The only redeeming features were Johnny Depp and pirates. Depp is always cool. So are pirates.
Yarr.
