A 1440 x 900 pixel display in a laptop?

I know lots of people with Dell Inspirons that have a native res of 1600*1200.

I love how their site is even "inspired" by Apple's.

Impressive, but what's the point? 1600 x 1200 on a 15"? Doesn't everything (icons, text, tray, etc.) get a little small?

This seems to be the way threads about these machines progress on other sites too, except now with a Mac bent to it... LOL

Way to go, web designers.. way to go creativity!

Other than that, the specs of the high-end machines look rather nice.

35% are x86/Windows and 20% are Mac developers (out of 100 staff).. check the about page, which takes a while to load.

When I first saw the website I thought it was a joke...well, that hasn't changed as I still think it's a joke. Anyway, what are people thinking when they do things like that? I mean, even the "news" section is the same place as it is at the Apple site.



I wasn't aware Apple made a single 2Ghz machine .

I called the phone number and asked to speak to the web designer.

Can't believe its a real number and someone answered though...

They just disabled the other processor for the test to be fair to compare a 2 GHz G5 to a 3.2 GHz P4.

LOL. Actually, the Apple single 2.0 SPEC scores ARE 100% accurate.

It's exactly what Apple publishes on its site. SPECint 800 and SPECfp 840. And yes, to get this score they actually physically removed one of the processors. See here.

Anyways, it seems that some here get it and some don't...

screw you apple, fu*king theives, 15" bs lcd displays with about a 3 pixel per inch resolution. i am so sick of 3 year old lcd technology being pushed on us for the price of todays technology that is on pc laptops...

I'm just surprised how gullible some people are (although it's not everyone in the various threads).

It's particularly interesting to see Mac people in this thread use the L-Technologies site to bash Apple.

If it's a hoax (which it certainly looks like), then it's pretty elaborate. I look forward to hearing the true story about all of this.

am about to go on an afternoon mission to locate maximum resolution in a resonably priced pc laptop, my only concern here.... since i want to buy a powerbook.

Well so do I, but it must be one hell of a joke, getting a real 1-800 number and different people to answer it each time I call it.

Also, they typed one hell of a bit of information on every page, and the story behind their logo, etc.

Well, I can't completely rule out a scam, but I think it's just a (well-executed) joke, mainly because of stuff like this:



It still floors me though how many people think it's legitimate.
