Looks like I was right: Ico ranked #1 underrated game of all time
Ico is amazing!! I absolutely love that game. 
I've never played it, but I plan on getting at some point.

Well, I bought it on ebay for $20.... I let kristin play it for most of the game, and we finally beat it tonight. Incredible game. If you have a PS2, you should OWN this game. It's better than grand theft auto, better than gran turismo, better than metal gear.

If you liked Ico, here are two other games you might like:
Siren (called Forbidden Siren in Europe)
A horror game developed by Team I-C-O and directed by Keiichiro Toyama of Silent Hill fame. This isn't yet another Resident Evil clone, however; Siren is an entirely new take on horror games.
Siren's visual style is similar to Ico's, most notably using the same soft-focus "camera lens" to create a dreamy appearance and make everything appear far more detailed than it actually is (albeit taking place in completely different surroundings).
Just a warning about Siren: it isn't for everyone. The game can get extremely difficult to the point that you'll need to consult an Internet FAQ or hint book to figure out what to do and some things, most notably the sight-jacking system, aren't implemented well. Hopefully the sequel SCEI has been hinting at will fix all of these problems.
Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time
Ico was heavily influenced by the original Prince of Persia and The Sands of Time was heavily influenced by Ico (and Devil May Cry).
A Hollywood take on Ico. Like Ico, it's a puzzle-based platformer featuring two characters: one playable, the other not. But Ico couldn't run on the walls or manipulate time like the Prince can. And Farrah, unlike Yorda, certainly isn't helpless.
Oh, and the original Prince of Persia is hidden within the game. (Or if you get the Xbox version, Both the original Prince of Persia and its sequel, The Shadow and the Flame, are hidden within the game.)
A sequel to The Sands of Time is coming out in November. I'm not as excited about it as I was about this game because it will shift the emphasis from puzzle solving to fighting.

I have to agree with everything written in that article. Ico was the best game I have ever played. I can see why it isn't a game everyone is going to rave about, but it certianly blew me away. Ico is the only game I can ever remember raving about to my friends after playing. Glad to see it earning some respect.

ICO is the one PS2 game that I refuse to trade. It's also the only reason I still keep my PS2 around since I bought an XBox - I can't wait for the sequel. You can keep your Tekkens and your Gran Turismos and you Metal Gears, ICO is the one for me.

i just rented Ico - from reading this thread and other reviews of it online, i thought i'd rent and check it out. i'll let you know what i think of it.
