Let's Go Yankees!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Tomorrow they'll play here in Miami.
AND I HAVE TICKETS!!!.
I can't believe I'm going to the World Series (5 years ago, when I was living in Cuba, it was an impossible).
I really want the Marlins to win. The little fish is fighting hard.
I'll say as my 2 year old little kid does:
LES GO MAHLINSSS!!!!
(Still doesn't know how to pronounce the Rs)

Thats how baseball works....sorry. You build the biggest and strongest team. welcome to reality. Look at the Red Sox, they bought like 6 players this year, the Yankees? 2 i believe. Don't hate the Yankees because they're successful, hate the yankees for other reasons.
Edit: Double post
(I really just wanted the white bg)

I know the Yankees are rich and throw money at players like it's party string.... But godammit they're my team- I grew up in the Bronx. They've won a lot recently ( if your team did you'd like it too) but I grew up with the post 78 Yankees and until about 93 it was not a party. Kids all over the Bronx were even wearing Mets jerseys at one point...
I had to watch the stupid Twins and Tigers and Orioles and Reds and A's and and Jays and Dodgers and Mets etc - even the frigging Braves won before my team, and none were really really exciting teams, most were just lucky to be there. And then came the Yankees in 96. Florida, Arizona and Anaheim were strictly one night stands so to speak. The Florida were seing now is someone who moved into their old abandoned building and didn't get around to change the name on the mailbox.
The Yankees are good. They're my team. I respect other teams, a Marlins Twins series would've been fine too. Get over it people. Enjoy the game already!

4 dedicated baseball fans climb Mount Everest. when they reach the summit, 1 fan yells "for the Marlins!!" and proceeds to throw himself off the top of the mountain. The next fan yells "for the Cubs!!!" and throws himself off the mountain. the Red Sox fan yells " For Everyone!!!" and pushes the yankees fan off the mountain.
One of the BIG keys that people are forgetting is that yes the Yankees have the money to spent on players but they also after many years of getting rid of them and not having any good talent. Brought some people up through the system. Pettite, Rivera, Williams, Posada, Jeter,Johnson. Then They went out and got the players that they needed to win. There willingness to pay the players to keep them is another reason why they are where they are.
Go Yankees!
Go Yankees!

I'm not from the Bronx myself, but my grandparents lived one short block from the Stadium. And I was a fan during the dreary late '60's and early '70's as well as the '78 to '96 stretch.
Anyhow, nice game tonight, and they finally got some run support for Mussina. Even though it took them till the 8th inning.
So, two wins to go. Think the teams will have to head back to NY?

Go Yanks!

Let's hope the only flight back will be as world series champs and to have another parade down the canyon of heros. Other than it would be cool to win it at the Stadium No I don't think they will be heading back unless Clemens and or Wells have total melt downs.
NOW WE ARE EVEN! TWO WINS TO GO.
It was a great home run by GONE... zalez last night.
Let's go Marlins!!!

Good point. I hate the yankees because
1) their market is so huge that they can AFFORD to buy their championships year after year (the YES network, BTW, sucks. Who wants to watch reruns of yankees games?;
2) teams in smaller markets can't compete economically - maybe new yorkers can afford $75 a ticket but nobody else can;
3) fans in those markets lose interest;
4) television revenue goes down (and has been declining);
5) baseball hasn't seen fit to do anything about this.
------> baseball dies.
Oh well, there is always football, basketball, hockey, X-Games, video games, movies, competing for the entertainment dollar.
WHich is why a Cubs/ SOx series would have been EXCELLENT for baseball.
On that note:
On a tour of Florida, the Pope took a couple of days off to visit the
coast for some sightseeing. He was cruising along the beach in the
Popemobile when there was a frantic commotion just off shore. A
helpless man, wearing a New York Yankee's jersey, was struggling
frantically to free himself from the jaws of a 25-foot shark.
As the Pope watched, horrified, a speedboat came racing up with three
men wearing Boston Red Sox jerseys aboard. One quickly fired a harpoon
into the shark's side. The other two reached out and pulled the bleeding,
semi-conscious Yankee fan from the water. Then using (autographed Nomar)
baseball bats, the three heroes in red beat the shark to death and hauled it
into the boat also.
Immediately the Pope shouted and summoned them to the beach. "I give
you my blessing for your brave actions," he told them. "I heard that there
was some bitter hatred between Red Sox and Yankee fans, but now I have
seen with my own eyes that this is not the truth."
As the Pope drove off, the harpooner asked his buddies "Who was that?"
"It was the Pope," one replied. "He is in direct contact with God and
has access to all of God's wisdom."
" Well," the harpooner said, "he may have access to God's wisdom, but he
doesn't know **** about shark fishing.... how's the bait holding up?"

Ok, for all those who didn't believe:
WE ARE CLOSE. ONE MORE GAME AND THAT'S IT.
I'm sorry for all the sore Cubs and Sox fans, but the Marlins have shown that even a team so young can beat the Yankees. Have you heard about David and Goliath?
All you need is BALLS!!!
aND WE HAVE ENOUGH to share.
LET'S GO MARLINS!!!

now, now. don't go spoiling it by getting cocky.
One thing about the Yankees: NEVER count them out in late innings or late series games. "Down a game" means NOTHING.
I am pulling for the Fish as well. Don't get me wrong. But a Yankee Cornered is a Yankee in its most dangerous state. Now is the time when the Marlins need everything they've got. No mistakes. Yankees have that knack for finding the hole and sending every gun they got at that hole.
GO. MARLINS.
That is all.
