the word "procrastinate" and other fads.
..grate is the new kewl
I don't know what's coming next, but I remember everyone using the word "prerogative" after that stupid Bobby Brown song. Most people didn't even know the word existed before that.

I'm sick of hearing the word: "juxtaposition".
I concur.

Something that bug the crap out of me...
"I was at the rents place this week and..."
er... the rents? are they your neighbours? your tenants? oh! Your PArents! wow! look at all the time you saved by not typing two letters and it made you look so cool!
I agree that when people use trendy words it can be annoying or funny depending on your perspective. But lots of people use large words because they are more precise than the common alternative. Precision is a good thing for communication...unless the person you're talking to isn't educated enough to understand and appreciate it.

Haha, same here. But I've got problems with other words too. I can't stand the sound of the word 'meal', so I don't say it and don't like other people saying it around me.

Yeah. Lived with an art student for a year - drove me nuts.
And guess who said the word on TV last night? Yep, the all-time champion of annoying, Ricky Gervais. Words can't describe how much I despise that prat.
