Blame it on Canada!

I find it funny that the source of the Canadian case of BSE couldn't be firmly determined after 7 months, but the US can figure out that Canada's to blame for the US case within 7 days.

Anyway, I wouldn't be surprised if the cow wasn't from Canada. Americans blamed Canada for the blackout in August. Surprise, surprise, it turned out to be the Americans' fault.

I just watched the CTV report. There are a lot of problems with the Americans' assertion that the cow came from Canada. Ignoring the irresponsibility of pointing fingers based on what they confess is "very preliminary information," the Americans are missing the cow's Canadian ear tag and official documents, and even disagree on the age of the animal.

Quite simply, it's ridiculous that the Americans even suggested the cow came from Canada without any evidence to support the claim. Then again, a lot of the US is ridiculous.

It's too late. The fact that CNN is reporting it is the Canadian death nail. Americans will believe it came from Canada. The US will increase political pressure on Japan. Once Japan starts importing again others will fall in line. Canada will once again be on the Mad Cow defensive. Mission accomplished.

Nothing against Canada. I visit Canada annually. I always enjoy my time in country. Even with people yelling, "yankee go home" when they see my cars tags.

Look, if your going to live next door to the only nation still capable of knocking you off the curb you are going to spend more time in the road. It's that simple.

You can whine all you want. The world is about economic prowess, global control, and implanting your views into the cultures of others in the hope of making them more like you. This in turn will strengthen your position economically. Your ability to control others will likewise increase.

Right or wrong it's reality. Nothing is going to change.

there was some evidence that the canadian cow discovered in may may have been american but american paperwork is horrendous in this area so it may never be known...

...it never entered the food chain.

from what i understand american ranchers have been shooting sick cows since the beginning of ranching and burying them or using them for feed.

there is no real american meat inspection and i think when they really look close in the next year some major coverups may come to light.

just naming canada as a possibility with no proof has already planted the seed in most americans who already believe the iraq war was about terrorism and not oil.

Anyways, this seems to be standard procedure, such that americans use Canada as a scape goat. It happened in the blackout and it happened again.

Half way through reading about this case. The Canadians are being used as the scapegoat here, most of the evidence seems to point to the US, so far.

It's all about economics, and industry; the US won't tolerate it them being the ones responsible, there's too much at stake, so they have to pin it on someone else.

We'll see though, time will show us.

You mean like weapons of mass destruction in Iraq? Yeah, the idea that America would do something like that is completely ludicrous.

By the way, under the Patriot Act this would fall under chemical and biological warfare.

Here's a little news update:

"The cow's owner checked his records and determined the cow was born in April 1997, two years earlier than U.S. officials originally believed" (CNN)

And they've "found" the missing tag.

Suddenly all this evidence to support their claim, which initially was all wrong, is surfacing

Anyone else think the DNA evidence will be fake as well? cuz I do.

Yeah, I decided not to mention that similarity. It seemed too easy.

I'm sure that this was a result of a US conspiracy as well.

I know a few Canadians that was poking fun with me about our country having bad beef. Then it came out it was actually from Canada, I had a good laugh.

there is yet no proof that the cow was infected when and if it came from canada.
