It's Blue, but so am I — #14

If you want to try replacing the PAV board, I've got a good one here that would go pretty cheaply. Shipping to Australia would be steep though.

Why don't you try to fix it? The iMac are very easy to fix. Do you have an idea of what is wrong with it? Don't scrap it, it may just be the PAV board.

G'day Mars, Yeah, it won't power on at all and gives off a warm plastic smell, so you're probably right as to the reason for it's deadness. Bits of brittle plastic dropped out of…

Check the speaker connections/try swapping the speaker units around. If there is no change, everything might be due for a cap replacement. trag sells complete IIci kits though.

Great tips, Bunsen! Have you done an in-depth study of where hot air stagnates inside the case? I've always loved the 6100. It's a great little machine, but the 30/33MHz bus is …

No, it's just your VGA monitor's problem. and tbh, I have never seen a 30-pin one strangely. xD and the radius card will prob. work with an LCD w/adapter fine.

LC475 3rd socket? — #2

Seems to me like it's for a ROM SIMM, that they decided to solder to the motherboard instead. Perhaps the early 475s had a removable ROM? Or maybe yours is a prototype?
