Just added this to my collection Macintosh LC 520     The 68030 is too slow to play Doom but it does run Master of Orion well enough.

Another question I have is around how to burn CDs such that they can be read by the LC 520.   I tried burning one on my Mac Book Pro but I keep getting a disk not initialized error…

I would never ship an LC5XX variant in the same box.  I would remove the CRT and front bezel, ship it separately.

just had an explosion from the power supply......holy %^^%$£ - 8 amp fuse ...black and dead. - a few caps black and dead - at least I didn't have the tam plugged into it -
