Need help distinguishing OMP and 100 models. — #1

I have an Apple Newton that I got for free. Judging by pictures, it must be either an OMP or a 100. How can I tell which one it really is? It's kind of a neat little thing and I…

Lombard G3 Trackpad Weirdness — #4

I've had this happen before and it seems to be caused by humidity or getting dirty. Especially if your hands aren't completely dry or have something on them. I've heard that loti…

Jobs Super Computer Not So Super? — #9

Exactly. The G4 put a lot of power for a little money on the table. Traditionally that kind of CPU performance was only found with "The Big Boys". You know them as SGI, Sun and I…

Lombard G3 Trackpad Weirdness — #3

Try downloading Sidetrack. You can set parameters for how much forgiveness it has for spurious trackpad signals.

Bright spot in center of G4 iMac LCD — #3

The Rev A AlBook 15" models had the same problem due to pressure on certain sections of the LCD during shipping. I would hazard a guess that at some time the iMac had undue pressu…

IIGS ROM 01 or ROM 03? — #6

ROM03 machines have less background noise coming from the speaker. It's most noticeable from within GSOS, where the processor and video hardware stay pretty busy.

IIGS ROM 01 or ROM 03? — #3

ROM 3 has 1MB built in. I guess it depends on if you are going to run GS/OS from a HD or just want to play games from floppy. ROM 3 for GS/OS, ROM 1 for floppy based games.
