I'm not sure what I would do if I met an iPod person from Apple beyond sayong something similar to "I can put the iPod in a BMW now and have it act like a CD changer? I thought the year was 2004, not 1999."
It is a shame they are so full of themselves, considering the iPod lacks features I find critical to mass music managment and have been using since 1999 on a player. Looking at the MP3 market, it took a big jump forward, but only tech people noticed. It then quickly went backwards.
I also find the success of the iPod a potentially bad thing for the rest of Apple. The more reliant they become on it, the less critical their other products have to succeed. Look at how much crap MS throws out into the market that they can just write off against the Windows/Office unit.
Oh well. At least we have a choice, and my empeg and Karma will continue to serve my musical needs.
