I had rice pudding with black ants and durian in Indonesia (not sure if those ants were supposed to be in the pudding)

and I had this in Thailand

(frogs, larvas(?) and grasshoppers)
A fried goldfish on toast - quite tasty, just like sardines...

Yes, that's what "roe" means.

It's basically sea urchin caviar.

It's also quite delicate, and I really liked the uni sushi I've had.

I'm pretty sure roe is defined as eggs http://www.dlc.fi/~marianna/gourmet/roe.htm or http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=roe&r=67 . Uni would contain eggs in the ovaries so you would be eating roe yet uni also contains the male gonads which do not contain any eggs.

1. You say that as if it should make me sick. It doesn't.
2. I'll sooner trust a sea urchin fishing company than some trashy mag that can't think of a better way to describe the texture than to liken it to snot. Look at http://www.catalinaop.com/uni.htm. They describe it as "internal roe".

My point was that your aim to shock went far and wide, because I'm pretty sure that most people who eat roe know that it's associated with.

And:

From Webster's Revised Unabridged Dictionary (1913) :

Roe \Roe\, n. [For roan, OE. rowne, akin to G. rogen, OHG.
rogan, Icel. hrogn, Dan. rogn, ravn, Sw. rom; of uncertain
origin; cf. Gr. ??? pebble, Skr. ?arkar[=a] gravel.]
1. (Zo["o]l.) The ova or spawn of fishes and amphibians,
especially when still inclosed in the ovarian membranes.
Sometimes applied, loosely, to the sperm and the testes of
the male.
Sea urchins aren't fishes, so I suppose the term is rather loosely applied, anyway.

Hey sorry. Not trying to make you feel sick. Uni grosses me out, its slimy lookin'. My brother-in-law always has it when we have sushi. Grosses us all out when he does.

being half asian, i've had squid and octopus more often than most....then again, ten other people said it earlier so it's not too strange.... not sea urchin gonads atleast....
i have eaten owl with pepper.

also numerous small birds. deep fried until the bonds and skull got all crispy so that you can swallow the whole thing.

Not disgusting, but when I'd go camping we'd make pine tea.

I have a few packs in my freezer...

I never make it cuz my family hates the smell, and it sticks around for so long.

Also, the first time I made it, I think I over cooked it...

(How long should it be in the microwave? I can't read Japanese )

Kitty cat is kind of a weird thing to eat, right?

EWWWWWW

The wierdest things I've eaten are probably pig ears and pig stomach (not the contents in the stomach), which were actually pretty good. I thought squids were normal until I read this thread

A staple diet for many in Botswana, South Africa and Namibia. Delicious, once you get over the IDEA of what you're eating.
