Real Life OS X Trash Can

Needs less fine wiring. I mean it looks pretty, but it definitely is not the OS X trash can.

Matt Fahrenbacher
Do you manually have to empty the trash out of it? Or does a fancy keyboard combo do the trick like the "real" thing on the one you bought?
I want mine with Oscar the Grouch inside.
Has someone see my timeline around here somewhere?

If you were running MacOS 7 or 8 you could...there was an old extension that did this...

Why do you handtype your full name every time you post? If you really want to sign that identifier into all of your posts, why not drop it to your signature box?
I have one too, although it's black.

Practice makes perfect...
And with a name like Fahrenbacher, you really need the practice! (How did I ever pass Kindergarden?)

Hmmm... might it look odd on all my old posts if I had my signature in my sig plus my old hand typed sig as well? That's way more editing than I want to do right now.

I've got that same trash can! But Matt's right, it's similar to the OS X Trash Can, but not a perfect match. I wonder if some company actually makes a wastebasket like the one from OS X...
Yup, I've got it too.
I have this one from IKEA (it looks much like the one BurpetheadX posted):

(Click on image for larger image.)
Ya they sold it at Ikea in black 15 years ago, they have had the silver one for over 5 years.
I think Zimphire found one that's pretty close.

It's not only close, it's the actual icon from OS X.

wow, Bed Bath and frickin Beyond.

All these shop names I have heard on TV and never knew they actually existed.

Another one on my list of American shops to find when I get to NY next week:

Bed Bath and Beyond
K-Mart
Best Buy
A real-life Walmart (we have a few Walmart stores in the UK, but they are usually just old Asda stores which have had a new sign put underneith the Asda one which says "Part of the Walmart family".
Abercrombie and Fitch
7-11
And others...

I thought Abercrombie and Fitch was from the UK?
I also have the IKEA one, good buy!

I bought two of the ones from Ikea. More expensive than the average trash can, but it looks much more sophisticated in office-type environments

You could just think of it as a user friendliness thing, "what's that icon do?" "look beside the desk, it does what it does there as well"

Someone needs to write this again! Don't know if it would work with the dock.
I have that trash can and love it

I'd kill to have some Apple icons (ie: Finder) as a wall poster, System Preference as real light switcher, Default Blue Desktop BG as a bed blanket, etc etc

I believe it would; however, not sure if anybody is going to give it the effort of a try...

I see a market that needs to be made.

You could make a quick mil just on the light switcher.
