Nice job with the QTVR. Seemless.

What kind of desk do you have your Cinema displays on, BTW?? Where'd you get it? I'm looking for something like that - big, clean and simple.

Thanks! Not quite seamless...but then it's v1.0 of Apple's QuickTime VR Studio, circa OS 8.x. I wish they'd update that under OS X.

The desk is a "conference table" from Storehouse (storehouse.com), but I've never seen it on their site. I think the desk + legs were $300 or so. It's 6' wide - a good foot wider than most desks. The desks that the older machines are on are all from IKEA.

Gotta love that blue wall!
blakespot, where did you get that little cart that you have your g5 on? I've been looking for something that will let me keep my g5 under the desk but still up off the floor. The wheels are perfect for pulling that beast out from under there.
If I'm not mistaken, that's an old macmice cart.. They haven't made those in a while.
Well that stinks. Know of anyone that sells something similar?

Yep, it's a MacMice cart. Even though the owner of that company is arguably insane, I ordered and got it. Works well. Not sure of the current availability...

Kenneth, we have the same mousepad! I don't know why I use it because my MX 1000 tracks perfectly fine on the desk... but it's just too classic so I can't let it go

And a view of the other side so you can see where I put the printer:

Great setup. I've been looking for a larger desk, what kind of desk do you have and where did you get it?

Thanks,
Josh

It's cubicle furniture from Bush Furniture Online. It's nice because it's all modular so you can fit it in to your space. It's heavy though.
Here's the home rig:

Dual 2.0
LaCie 19" Electron Blue
15" Aplle LCD
Powerbook 15" 1.25
Alesis M1 monitors
Delta 44 sound card
M-Audio keystation 61

120 & 20 gb Firewire drives
20 gb iPod

Specs:
G4 dual 800 (you know the drill)..
G5 1.8ghz [we decided the mini driving a 23" wasn't such a great idea]
22" and 23" displays [the 23" bought in the marketplace ]
VoIP over vonage (saving money = good)
Hp 940c and 1315 (would have loved a canon but I needed a scanner), canon multipass 5500 (best for faxing)
Klipsch GMX 5.1 (optical from g5, analog from g4.. though I'll be moving that to coax soon)
Comfy chair
Not so comfy chair
Another Not so comfy chair
2 Comfy Dining chairs (the other 2 in my closet haha)
StudioRTA table borrowed from upstairs
Dining Table
Cheap $15 switch from fry's
isub (hiding back there)
Cool lamp
Cool neon guitar clock (t'was my birthday present)
garage door opener remote (hah)
2 boxes of CD-Rs, 1 spindle of fresh CD-Rs, 2 spindles of random CDs I'm too lazy to put into cases, 1 box of DVD-Rs
9v, AA, and AAA batteries
various lengths of ethernet cable
Traffic light and that funny looking clock that nobody can ever read
Grandfather clock (was my dad's uh.. clock...)

pens, pencils, and paper...

The disadvantage to having a four year old thread that revolves around picture linking is that, well... people don't keep servers forever. It is becoming more and more rare to have all pictures load before page 25 and next to impossible to find any that will load the further you go back towards page 1. All this does is cause annoying load hangs.

So, welcome to 'The New Power Mac Picture Thread'. I've taken the liberty of making this itteration of the Power Mac Picture Thread a sticky, so that it resides at the top of the forum listing.

For those of you stumbling across this thread who weren't around for the original 32 pager and would like to peek around it, you can find it here.

Now, on with the show:

This is where I work...

I love these photos. One can really never get enough of people's setups. I read these threads, on several forums.

Usually, the setups are one or the other:

1) The beautiful setups that I envy
2) Beautiful setups, but a little messy, which makes me feel a little bit better about mine.

My desk never seems messy to me, everything is tidy in its place, but when I take a photo it looks messy. argh!

Regarding to the Apple mousepad, I got it in the late 90's.
