Myst Hints 1.0 is a HyperCard stack by Simon Poisson, distributed via MacInTouch in 1994, that walks a stuck player through Cyan's Myst with successive, escalating hints rather than outright spoilers. The "10d HC" build is a development-tagged HyperCard release of that hint stack.
Tiered hints, not walkthroughs
The stack is built around the idea that a hint should be the smallest nudge that gets you unstuck. Each puzzle screen reveals clues one click at a time, so a curious player can stop as soon as the answer becomes obvious.
Pure HyperCard
Per the Macintosh Garden entry, the stack requires HyperCard 2.1 or HyperCard Player 2.1 or later. There is no separate engine, just buttons, fields, and cards driving a linear hint flow.
Companion to Myst, not a substitute
It assumes you already own and are playing Cyan's Myst on a Mac of the era; the stack contains no game art or audio of its own and only references locations and puzzles by name.
Running it today
Modern users typically open the stack under HyperCard inside Basilisk II or SheepShaver, alongside whichever build of Myst they are working through.
