Civ Crack Editor 1.1b by Robin Emig is a patch utility for Sid Meier's Civilization 1.08 on Macintosh. Rather than altering save files, it applies a curated collection of binary patches (cracks) directly to the Civ application, letting players toggle cheats such as free purchases, full-map vision, no global warming, and ships that sail on land.
What It Does
The editor exposes a menu of named cracks gathered from the Civilization community. Examples include buy=$32000, Sell=$32000, Buy=$0, NoLoseMoney, ClearMap, NoWarming, WinOffense, NoFoodShortage, Moses (walk on water), SailOnLand, Tech1Turn, InfiniteFlight, Cities on h20, NoQuestions, and NoCopyProtection.
Caveats
The author warns that overlapping cracks can collide because some patch the same memory regions, and recommends backing up the Civ application before use. If multiple selected cracks fail to apply together, applying them one at a time is suggested.
Shareware Model
Unregistered copies are limited to a starred subset of patches; a $5 (US) registration unlocks the full set. Credit for the original patch discoveries is given to an anonymous contributor referred to as Nemo.
