CMCT Netmap Pak is a community-built collection of network multiplayer maps for Bungie's Marathon, the 1994 Macintosh first-person shooter. The pack ships as a set of map files intended for head-to-head and team play over LAN or AppleTalk rather than as a standalone game.
What it contains
The archive bundles Marathon-format map data designed for network sessions, expanding the pool of arenas available beyond the original shipping maps.
How to use it
Drop the supplied map files into your Marathon folder and select them from the network game setup dialog when hosting a session; refer to the included read-me for any map-specific notes.
About Marathon networking
Marathon's net play supported deathmatch-style modes such as Every Man for Himself and Kill the Man with the Ball over AppleTalk, and third-party map packs like CMCT helped sustain the multiplayer community through the late 1990s.
Preservation
Fan map packs of this era are best preserved alongside their original read-me files, which carry the authors' credits and any distribution terms set by the CMCT contributors.
