Outland Reversi 1.1.1 is a client application for Outland, a graphical multiplayer game network for Macintosh users. It is not a standalone game: players must first install the Outland Gateway and connect to the Outland service before launching Reversi to face other human opponents over the network.
About Outland
Outland was a mid-1990s commercial multiplayer service offering titles such as Spaceward Ho!, Chess, Reversi, Galley, Hearts, Backstab, and a graphical BBS, all linked through the Outland Gateway client.
Connecting
Subscribers could reach the service over the Internet via MacTCP, by telnet from a Unix or Delphi shell account, or by dialing modems located in Palo Alto, California at 2400 baud or faster.
Requirements
A 68020 or better Macintosh running System 7.0 or later, plus MacTCP, telnet access, or a 2400+ baud modem, and the Outland Gateway software installed in the same folder as the Outland Games directory.
Installation
After decompressing the archive, the game application is moved into the Outland Games folder beside the Gateway before connecting to the service.
