Demo of Blood Bath at Red Falls v1.92, UnderWorld Software's 1995 full-motion-video light-gun shooter for the Mac. The demo (sometimes labeled the Graveyard build) drops you into a single sample level where digitized live-action terrorists pop out of cover and you must gun them down with a mouse-driven assault weapon without hitting hostages.
Source game
Blood Bath at Red Falls plays like a coin-op shooting gallery transplanted to the desktop. Each screen is a static or short-loop video plate; enemies appear from windows, doorways, and rooftops and fire back if you do not drop them in time. The full 1995 release shipped through UnderWorld Software with later distribution by American Laser Games and Midas Interactive.
Demo limits
Version 1.92 of the demo includes one playable area (the Graveyard scene), three of the retail game's selectable weapons, and disables save, continue, and high-score export. A title screen, simplified menu, and an Order Form screen replace the full game's level select.
Controls and scoring
Mouse-aim crosshair, click to fire, automatic reloads. Hostage hits subtract from health and score; clean enemy hits build a chain multiplier. The demo runs in a fixed-size window in 256 colors so the QuickTime video playback stays smooth on mid-90s hardware.
System requirements
Fat-binary for 68k and PowerPC, System 7.x through Mac OS 9. The community has verified the demo on Mac OS 8.6 and 9.0.4, plus SheepShaver and Basilisk II emulation. Set the display to 256 colors before launching, otherwise the video plates corrupt.
