Temple of Doom 1.1b is a beta-stage scenario pack for Wolfenstein 3D on the Macintosh, built by Josh Mills. The release is presented as one of the hardest and most complex Wolfenstein 3D scenarios going, spanning thirty levels and bundled with a Castle Wolfenstein demo.
A Wolfenstein 3D Scenario
Rather than a standalone game, Temple of Doom is a level set that loads into id Software's Wolfenstein 3D engine on classic Mac OS. It requires either Wolfenstein 3D Third Encounter or the commercial release to play.
Thirty Levels of Mazes
The scenario is structured as thirty maps, designed to push players who have already cleared the official campaigns. The README warns that the difficulty curve is steep even by Wolfenstein 3D standards.
From a Veteran Level Designer
Mills, reachable as copperfield@worldnet.att.net at the time of release, is also credited with First Strike, Dragon Cavern, Castle of Lost Souls, Tiger Cavern, and Castle Xeen. The notes describe the included levels as as good as it gets within that catalogue.
Beta Caveat
The release is explicitly labelled a beta. The Info-Mac archive ships it as temple-10.hqx in the game/com category alongside other shareware add-ons, with the bundled Castle Wolfenstein demo included for players who do not own the full game.
