Fortress of Fear, formerly known as the Dragon Cavern, is a free 25-level scenario by Josh Mills built for the full version of id Software's Wolfenstein 3D Mac port. Aimed at hardcore Wolfenstein addicts, it pairs simple puzzles with a heavy stream of enemies to mow down across its custom maze levels.
What it is
A user-made scenario pack (a set of replacement levels and graphics) that loads inside Wolfenstein 3D rather than running standalone. It is a sibling project to Mills' Tiger Cavern, both distributed through the Info-Mac wolf scenario folder.
Requirements
Requires the full, registered version of Wolfenstein 3D for the Macintosh. The scenario file replaces or supplements the stock maps and shares the host engine's system requirements.
Author
Distributed as freeware by Josh Mills (copperfield@worldnet.att.net), with a companion GeoCities page at televisioncity/1568/wolf.html that hosted the author's other Wolf 3D work.
