Operation: Annihilate! is a ten-level scenario for the Macintosh edition of Wolfenstein 3D by Laz Rojas, the prolific MacWolf level designer. Built on id Software's first-person shooter engine, it borrows its title from the closing episode of Star Trek's first season and threads a science fiction sensibility through the Wolfenstein toolkit.
The scenario
The pack delivers ten new maps stocked with traps, hidden passages, and the kind of layered ambushes Rojas was known for. Players move through a sequence of fortified areas using the standard Wolfenstein arsenal, hunting for keys, secrets, and the level exit.
The MacWolf community
Mac Wolfenstein 3D supported user-made scenarios and spawned an active modding community in the mid-1990s. Laz Rojas was one of its most prolific contributors, and Operation: Annihilate! sits alongside his many other releases catalogued on the Wolfenstein 3D wiki and in the MacenWolf archive.
Requirements
The scenario requires a working copy of Macintosh Wolfenstein 3D to load. It runs on PowerPC and late 68k Macs of the era, with classic keyboard-and-mouse FPS controls.
Why it endures
It is a representative artifact of the Mac-only Wolfenstein modding scene, a small but creative branch of FPS history that flourished before DOOM editing tools eclipsed it.
